STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 258km | Special Stage 284km | Total 542km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The pressure which competitors faced the day before (and late into the night for some of them), will partly ease off on the road to Chilecito. The shorter and less intense stage will allow them to enjoy their majestic surroundings. The red earth tracks, overlooking steep peaks and plunging down into canyons, will take the Dakar through one of the most beautiful regions of Argentina. But no-one should be tempted to sit back and enjoy the view, particularly on the motorcycle and quad bike routes which include some gruelling sections. With thousands of stones to be avoided, it will only take one to ruin this magnificent day!

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Any news on what cost him 21 min today?

49 cars in front of robby daaaa

SNUCE

Wake up

My guess is the fact that he started behind slower cars and the course was tight and narrow. Passing was probably an issue and when you have to follow slower vehicles for miles at a time, you will lose time to the leaders.

BINGO!

Much better answer.

i heard Peterhansel say that it was really difficult to overtake today , the track was not large, and it may break the suspension off track and it doesn't worth at this time.

ATTA BOY ROBBY !!! Keep on plugging away .

Good day! The Gordini is still alive and RG passed a lot of cars. I am still amazed at the attrition from yesterday.

Just an FYI from today, they did have a flat tire early in the stage (somewhere between KM22 and KM50) and that cost them some time. So, the slower cars they passed early in the stage, they had to re-pass again due to the stop.

That makes more sense.

called that! lucky guess
