The Wild Thing

I used to work @ Cummins years ago. Had some cool test video's. VHS style...

Oh cool you the 1 who posted bout it on youtube ? It says thats what the video is from a vhs copy . That thing looks soooooo BADASS shame it didnt finish the race , wouldve liked to see it continue . Heres the website i found the youtube vid on http://offroadaction.ca/off-road-racing-semi-truck . Ive tried to find it on just plain youtube but nothing comes up .

No I didnt post it but Ill ask some old friends if they still have it. If they do Ill convert the whole tape over.

That thing was a big pig. Except on flat ground! I always wondered how that deal came about. I know Bill Savage built it but it's such a wierd thing to see. Corporate America doesn't seem to do many things like this so the back story has to be interesting. 2 execs sitting in a bar and someone says 'Hey, I have an idea...' lol

We raced that race 2/1600...Looked over wild thing while in the tech line...It was very well built and I thought would at least finish?

I'd like to see them bring it back but with today's updated technology . I think it'd do pretty good

Now thats what a Dakar truck should look like

Not practical though the Dakar rigs actually have to carry stuff

Many just race... empty compartments

I was pitting that race for a friend in a Stock Full we were on our way down to set up our main pit the afternoon before the race when we saw this big ol' thing roaring toward us on the highway it was swaying back and forth but it was Haulin' Ass! I guess they were just wringing it out before the race. To bad it didn't finish I was looking forward to seeing it go by. Robby's guy's pulled the big rig in and set up right across from us, I was looking forward to seeing that but me and the guy I was riding with pulled out early the next morning to set up a remote pit on Laguna Salada as it turns out I did get to see Robby, he got towed in to the BFG pit next to us after his motor went south......not what I was hoping for, but on the bright side our guy finished but I forget where he placed.

I can just imagine it swaying back and forth , the cg has gotta be super high on it .
