STAGE 13 TRACKING

STAGE 13: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > ROSARIO

Connection 519km | Special Stage 180km | Total 699km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Aspiring winners will certainly be those who find the 180km of the day’s special section the most difficult, designed with twisty, undulating routes, faster sandy and rocky sections… leading to significant levels of stress. For most of the others, the 699km to be covered before reaching the podium in Rosario will be a relief. To be enjoyed without moderation…

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

I agree the Duramax is not big enough, but does a good job pulling a small loaded trailer.

Moonshine powered Clampet mobile.

I think his direction may be fine for a shorter, low altitude race, but the longer, and especially, high altitude races kinda favor turbo / supercharged engines due to the lack of O2 at high altitudes. The bigger, more powerful, normally aspirated engines require more fuel = more weight = bigger and heavier chassis... unfortunately, I think the Pugs have the right idea ... turbocharged diesels... less weight, better fuel mileage in diesels means less fuel to carry; a lighter chassis means less wear on the tires and suspension; turbo keeps the power up at high altitudes .... just seems like a better way to go for this kind of race .... if I were to start over, I'd go to Detroit and find a 3 liter turbo diesel engine and design a whole new chassis around that .... just sayin...

i been saying it for a while, turbo diesel, mid engine irs is the answer

they don't make loud noise, brum brum! not good.

Not wanting to be Debbie Downer on your new favorite build and sponsors for future DAKAR's. Let Robby and all involved finish this event and decide their direction.
First things first
I agree.with you.

Oh no, I agree. Im dreaming....that's all.

Robby needs to get out in front of this and come out publically and apologize or at the very least mention the accident. I know the lawyers will say no, but he needs to get the fans on his side as that is all that matters at this point. The rules have changed with social media now.

Sometimes I wonder who is RG's publicist with so many opportunities missed, or in this case the opportunity to do the right thing missed.

I love RG, but hopefully this is a wake-up call. Can't believe he will be doing three wheel turns and podiums jumps in SA if he ever does return for Dakar.

Dude, you'er freaking out, relax, put down the EcoBoost pipe...

But I am in Washington and EcoBoost is legal. It's hard to stop.

Haha
