STAGE 12 TRACKING

STAGE 12: SAN JUAN > VILLA CARLOS PAZ

Connection 450km | Special Stage 481km | Total 931km

COURSE OVERVIEW

There is more than 900km to cover on the day before the finish, including more than half in the special section, with the exception of the trucks, whose dimensions are not suitable for some of the tracks on the agenda. In this semi-mountainous terrain, the vegetation which lines their edges might be a bit tight for them! This means that the other vehicles will also have to show dexterity. Fans of pure driving will be at ease, but they’ll have to watch out for blunders: at this stage in the game, a mistake could cost them dearly.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

or like someone said before, "a stadium truck/baja chassis wont do in the dakar anymore ,peugeot proved that ,mid engine turbo diesel , irs is the best all around setup

Go back and read my last posts on stage 11 please.

I'll look for it

Dinamo you are absolutely right.

RG has always said Dakar is the Formula One of offroad racing. It just seems like RG has the Toro Rosso or a Sauber package while the Minis, Peugeots and Toyotas are the Mercedes, Ferrari and Williams of the Dakar. All about the money to fund research and development.

I'd hate to see him give up something he loves. Hopefully the ASO can do something to help level the playing field.

Excellent analogy

Being from Argentina you should have formed a fan club in 2009 and helpppppped ASO realize how much you guys love RG.
Now it may well be too late.

Im from Argentina but live in Spain ;-)

Hummer was a buggy (mid engine v8 IRS) The HST is much like a 6100 trophy spec platform slightly scaled down , set up for big woops and crossgrain haulin ass. there are advantages to each but very different in there own ways. To set up ether for a 2 week rally where the days terrain could be to your advantage or you struggle to make things work is a crap shoot, NOW throw in things like weather, component failure, logistical mistakes and a TOTALY Unpredictable race promoter you can have a struggle just to finish....so goes 2016

mid engine? really? where did you get that?

The Hummer was no quicker then the Gordini. The competition has just evolved quicker

i agree , i think the hummer was a much better setup

Not for this type of WRC course. better for open dunes/desert yes. Wheelbase is your friend

yes you are right ,thats why peugs streched wheel base this year
