STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN

Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

SST should help out by next year he should have a good package

Robby don't need no stinking help he'll be fine . Another car is just more expense for Robby . Remember last yr how he kept pushing on and improved while others fell out . Mini Toyota and the others have unlimited funds , Robby is doing this all on his own dime .

Boy, looking at the timing it seems that a huge number of cars have had big problems today. Many of the factory teams seem OK, but this extra-long stage seems to be wreaking some real havoc on many of the back markers. All sorts of people loosing hours between stages, mostly near the end. It probably would have been a kinder thing if the teams had had a few stages to shake the bugs out of their cars before they were forced to tackle todays marathon. I'm not sure how many teams will have to retire, or will find themselves stopped out on the course, but I won't be surprised if there are more than a few who find themselves not moving, and out in the dark this evening.

Ya even PETERHANSEl lost an hour and Roma's F**ked

Bugs need to be out of the car before the start .

I've only been halfway able to follow today as work as commanded most of my attention....but, folks - this is an odd thread theme we have going.

RG seems to be back a ways, but - it's the 2nd stage and nearly anything can happen. It is unlikely the competition will compete problem free.

Also - there are no absolutes. Multi-car outfits carry pros and cons. I *suspect* the number of factory sponsored vehicles has more to do with economies of scale than anything else.

hard to believe there is already talk of "next year"....

So whats the outcome of all this, is RG still in it or not?

in

nice ditch.Happy he stood on his own

Only 49 out of 135 have finished and only 62 at WP12 so lots of issues
