2013 BAJA 1000 & SST LAS VEGAS Televised Today

Not sure if a discussion has already started on this subject, but wanted to let everyone know that the 2013 BAJA 1000 is airing on ABC today under "World of X Games" 2pm Pacific Time.

The Baja 1000 piece broadcast today was a "produced for" ESPN/ABC by BCII. (http://www.bciitv.com/) Great to see a piece like this. While it was a very nice one-hour production, it was shot with a modest crew and budget in comparison to it really takes to completely cover all the storylines that an massive event like the Baja 1000 offers. Plus to fit a one-hour slot, minus spots and promos, the content gets highly rarified down to only a hand full of stories - thus the extended RG sidebar mention. I do have to say that I have always liked Toby Moody's presentation style - his honest geekyness, enthusiasm and dry wit are refreshing.

I agree about Toby Moody. He has what appears to be genuine enthusiasm! He did say the TT are multimillion dollar rigs. Did he mean they TT cost several million dollars or the truck and support cost that kind of cabbage?

Thought Toby did a great job on it . It being his 1st Baja gave a new fan perspective to show . Jolly Good Show Mate ! Also thought they did a great job with a tribute to Kurt Caselli . Didn't dwell on it but gave him his proper respect .

One of the better televised pieces of the Baja 1000 that I have seen. Was well balanced.

I just hope they don't start calling BJ the Ironman, we all know that there is only one.

Seemed more of the commentators experience at the Baja then covering the race and all the Teams

Just watched SST Vegas ( I've got every race on both my dvr and on YouTube saved to my cell ) . What a race !!!! Anyone who says Robby shouldnt've won the championship is NUTS ! That could've easily gone either way for Robby or Rob Mac . It was a great race , a great championship battle and a great yr . Can't wait for Dakar then the 2014 SST season !
