Charlotte, N.C. (October 18, 2013) – Caesars Palace Las Vegas has hosted some of the greatest entertainment acts in the world – from Evel Knievel, to Frank Sinatra and Celine Dion, to the Formula One World Championship events in 1981 and 1982. On Thursday, November 7, 2013, taking part simultaneously with the automotive industry’s premier trade show, SEMA, Las Vegas history will once again be made as the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks™ event (SST) makes its way to Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip.
The race track for this special one-day only event will be constructed in front of Caesars Palace. High-flying SST trucks will propel past The Colosseum and through the Caesars Palace marquee. Fans will be thoroughly entertained as the high horse-powered SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks battle door-to-door, drifting around the seven-turn asphalt racecourse and flying over specially constructed metal ramps.
This event is open to the public. Tickets can purchased onsite at Caesars Palace or in advance at http://www.stadiumsupertrucks.com.
An event at Caesars has long been a vision of series President, Robby Gordon. The unique form of racing that SST offers was immensely popular more than 20 years ago – known then as the Mickey Thompson Off-Road Championship – and fittingly Gordon, one of the world’s greatest off-road racers, has brought it back to life.
“Bringing SST to Caesars during SEMA Show week, the world’s most premier automotive specialty products trade event,is something unheard of,” said Gordon. “We would like to thank everyone at Caesars Palace and The Forum Shops at Caesars for giving us the opportunity to present a race like this. Getting to race SST trucks on this property is something phenomenal.”

In addition to the SST lineup, USA Pro SuperMoto and Modified Trophy Karts will be competing with a full program of qualifying and main events.

Yah, that's not right. He should have made himself in eligible - at least for this season. Building, tuning and testing the trucks is a big edge, but then again, he would have won it as an outsider even if it wasn't his series.

I find it funny that if you talk to all the haters over on RDC the event was horrible . No dirt , not long enough course , not wide enough course , not a lot of people in the stands , bitch bitch bitch etc etc etc . I for 1 think it was a great idea to hold it in conjunction with SEMA . Lots of potential sponsors for next yr , showed fans what it's all about , and brought a new driver into the fold .

Many of the cats on RDC have a vested interest in another series other than SST. I would say their comments are biased and venture into defaming the series to benefit their associated parties.

Yeah I know if I said black they'de say white lol . No biggie we all know better and it ain't just Robby or SST they're bitching about . SCORE and Roger Norman are getting heat too . Something bout a shortcut for some of the limited classes . 1/2 of them just bitch for something to do .

I can say I do learn quite a bit from their comments, biased or not. Many of them are racers themselves and have been in the industry and around the sport for many years. For some of them to raise such a stink in regards to SST is to me a sign that they feel threatened by the product that Robby etal are presenting. Threatened that it might put their series to shame.. out of business maybe. If your competitors are making adjustments based on what you're doing that is a good thing. The trick is to keep moving forward and stay on the cutting edge (look at what of some of Robby's competition is doing at Dakar). I don't see Robby becoming complacent anytime soon so things should continue on the up and up. Besides, some of the criticism over there is quite creative and most entertaining if taken with a grain of salt and the knowledge of the motivation behind their train of thought.
PS: Did anyone else notice that Robby overcame an early race rollover last night to finish second and secure the 2013 Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks points championship?

Enjoyed the snippets of video from Vegas.......I just happened to be reading an old old old copy of HotRod magazine with a nice "SEMA" thing in it. As per a championship the series began to fly by the seat of its pants there after the first so many events I'm unclear when it ended or will end or did end or could end or has ended or having been ended...........to be continued..........."I say black"...........you scared me there..

Has Glamis been confirmed? Would have expected something official if it's only 3 months away...but they could just be waiting for Vegas to finish to announce it.
