“James (Finch) came into the shop and we were throwing a few names around. Robby Gordon was a candidate and then Owen’s name was put up,” said Harrison

“To be honest Dale (Earnhardt) Jr, Marcos (Ambrose), AJ (Allmendinger) , anyone we spoke to was very supportive of Owen and what he could bring to our team.

“We are pumped to have him as part of our operation. Anyone who looks at his career and has watched him in his Nationwide qualifying and races knows he has got talent.

“We will be running the same car which Kurt Busch finished third in at Sonoma last year. We head up to Watkins Glen believing we can be very, very competitive.

“We had Jacques Villeneuve in our car at Sonoma this year and had Robby Gordon as an option, as I said, but we believe Owen is the best option for us.

@Dave , do more research, I'll stand pat of my first answer. Simple as this, who control's Nascar? who is a customer? Brutin is a customer

Dave look at it like this if there wasn't a NASCAR would there even be a Bruton . I mean why did Bruton build all his tracks to begin with ? To have NASCAR races and make money .

Mike, why the constant attacks? It seams that it's your point of view and everyone else is a bother! I come hear to read, relax and don't need the bullshit! I am aloud my position and stand by it! There are select few that have hitched there wagon to the NASCAR train and have gotten very rich by it! And yes, Burton is another and Tony is the future of wagon hitchers.BTW, Burton has 11 tracks that NASCAR races!

@Dave ,you asked. sorry you don't believe it.It wasn't personal, just answering your question.Brutin is a middle man, simple as that and you don't believe it.
Dave, why do you think you have more interest in the genre of stock car racing than I do? That is a personal question.

Dave- You can kick your feet up and relax here anytime!

Warm up the yacht!

Bruton has 11 as mj pointed out and I believe International Speedway Corp. owns the rest. I may be wrong on that but they do own the majority of tracks run. ISC is owned by the France family. Just one more thing that's wrong with Cup.

Basically NASCAR is the state and the track owners are just the cities in it . France just happens to own a few of the cities too lol

IMO or my two cents I feel Chevy has too much control over Nascar. I also think if Nascar listens to customers than they would have given Vegas a second race, they would have given in to Kentucky having a second race instead of being sued. They would have listened that it isnt just ticket prices driving away fans but it is the cost of hotels & travel near or to a track.

Stewart went with Papis & Dillon both have Chevy/Childress connections....Stewart is getting Harvick next year.

BTW I was sort of glad Robby didn't race Watkins Glen, it meant I didn't have to get all pissy at the tv bobbleheads for not giving proper tv coverage to Robby!

They gave Texas a second race after being sued, and now no one shows up. Texas went so far as even to remove grandstands. I agree with the hotel prices, the only HASCAR events I go to anymore are the ones where I have a place to stay with family or home.

If Nascar wanted to fix itself it would allow a 3rd party to sanction the events. But, they are a business, and a greedy one at that. Its affected the ability to attend events($$$) and the quality of the racing. That's why fans are leaving.
