Jan 19th, 2013 Dakar Rally Stage 14 Race Info & Discussion

Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 14 of the 2013 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon was the winner of stage 13, and looks to close out the rally with another stage win.Stage 14 marks the end of the 2013 edition of the rally. The cars are slated to begin the special section of stage 14 at 8:06am/et and Robby Gordon will begin his special section at 8:06am/et.  Raceday chat will be available throughout the entire 2013 Dakar Rally.

COURSE OVERVIEW

To reach the Chilean capital, the heroes of the 2013 Dakar will still have to remain focused on the amazing fast tracks, where the pleasure of driving will go hand in hand with their sense of accomplishment. After the journey on the road, the drivers will be expected on a show course a few kilometres long, where they will be able to delight spectators by performing skids and jumps. This will be a foretaste of the highly emotional ceremony which will be organised the next day facing the Palacio de La Moneda, on the Plaza de la Constitución.

Just got home from the funeral . Looks like no stage win today but its ok Robby fought hard and NEVER gave up . That in my eyes makes more of an impression than anything . Mark Miller , Joe Parsons and all the other doubters can all go to hell . There's a reason why most of the cheers were " ROBBY ROBBY ROBBY " it's cause he always gives 110% no matter what , where most racers will and have given up Robby stays true to what offroad is all about . Man and machine against the elements . No crying or whining about this or that . If something goes wrong you just fight that much harder to preserver . Robby it may not say 2013 Dakar Champion on your list of accomplishments , but to me and I believe a whole lot of others here YOU ARE OUR CHAMPION !!! This is gonna be a great year for RGM and I for one can't wait for the rest .

What is that Peterhansels 12h Dakar? 5 on cars and 7 on bikes?. Quite an achievement.Anyway see what 2014 brings from RG. As well I hope he Robby gets a NASCAR ride for the road racing events.

This is Peterhansel's 11th overall win, 5th in a car and he had six on bikes. Got to respect for the guy, and I hope that after this year Peter will show Robby some respect back. Peter didn't make any mistakes and won, and Robby, after his potential rally ending rollover in stage 4, fought back, won stages, and got a respectable finish.

Well Robby, you did well and you showed others that you were a contender.....if you had managed to keep the rubber side down you would have made the top 3 i'm guessing. Anyway, it was great following you and I bet you had fun. Better luck next year.

It sucks he lost the overall this year. It sucks for everyone else next year cause he's comming back! I think I could deal with the disapointment knowing I get to come home to run my own Racing Series thats going to pay for the win next year.Its got to be a good life.

I guess the whole effort from the CcKK OOggh....TtHhGK .........."What did I do?" forward was a chin up if ever there was one. Not much for hats, vintage if ever and it is a "HAT'S OFF" if you ask me. You know who who you are, we know who you are and this country needs to see the what you are made of. Golf has 18 holes, bowling 10 frames, DAKAR 14 stages, throw out the you know what and..................GREAT EFFORT.
