Finally in Segment Four we continue our conversation with Mark Miller who talks about the book he's written about his involvement with Dakar and we get very candid comments from Miller on the effort American Robby Gordon is making at Dakar. Gordon has tried for several years to not only finish the event but get a stage win or overall podium finish. That effort has proven difficult. Miller talks about why that is. This is an exclusive THS Breakout interview on the world's only weekly topical webcast on sports car racing, rallying, drifting and time attack. TRT: 12:52

He MM never said he could make him successful at Dakar. Sounds like they would not be in he same car together .

When you came here you knew this was a Robby Gordon Fan site correct? Fans tend to stick by the person and or team etc, that they are a fan of through good or bad. Do we want our driver to win yes do we need our driver to win no. No you say? why back someone if they aren't winning?"because we are FANS! That can't be right you say, during the start and park day's of NASCAR were we here? was there complaining, second guessing, speculating yes plenty of all three but where were we doing it? right here because we are FANS! We are impressed with the man, his driving skills his dogged determination his brash swagger and attitude we want him to tell the world " To Kiss My Ass ! we don't want PC, vanilla, gee what a good guy. We want exactly what we get warts and all. You see we don't need wins and championships to know he's one of the most talented drivers to ever come along, we just know. And that is why we're fans.

Who said you should not stick by RG? That is what Fans are for. See how the next two stages pan out for RG.

Well said my brother in orange ! Robby is our guy no matter what !

Dam Wally! - Guess I should start reading the post from the beginning not the last comment posted......well said brotha or should I say my fellow FAN.

Everyone has their opinions, and there's usually reasons for why thing are done - economics, budgets, long terms goals - whatever.... don't read too deep into what MM says... his days are done and he's looking for one last gasp...

Go RG -

It's sad when some athletes are done and they reach for anything to stay in the spot light. Some stay in the game too long like Namath. Watching him hobble around with the braces on looking pathetic for the Rams was pure pain.I will not talk like an expert,as I'm not, but I'm a fan. I think the man that can throw a stone should have the accolades before even picking the stone up. Robby looks extremely happy putting on a the show at Dakar, the fans are ecstatic at his display of wheel skills and we're here following dots and loving every minute tells me I picked the right guy!

Miller is just trying to create some hype around himself again to generate interest and financial support so he can get back to racing. By ripping into RG he has gotten a little attention, but I don't think it'll be the attention that he intended to receive. Besides talking about his rally Robby essentially has been in a couple week media blackout and will have a few different things to address when he returns to the states. I am interested in how he responds.

What a dip shit. Sounds like he is stuck on himself. ..maybe he should drive again.

He's applying for an ASO job???
He's dating a french girl or trying to make points with a SLC blogger & RG hater??? Is that redundant?

What a Dick. Says Robby makes excuses and then right after makes a bunch of them like they took his good navigator away (umhhh.... because he crashed too much) and then when he didn't crash too much he had navigational problems because his navigator was more interested in supporting his other team mates. Then even though he was part of probably the largest most well funded Dakar effort in history called the Volkswagen Team juggernaut, his equipment wasn't that good. Sounds like this guy has just spent way too much time in Europe because he's starting to sound like a pompous, boorish, snob ass Frenchman. Listen to how much respect he gives to all the European drivers and then trashes the American guy who has more guts and determination than Rambo. What Robby is doing is Epic. In the last couple of years he has shown he has the fastest vehicle and is starting to dial it in. With more and more frequency Robby beats some of these "greatest drivers in the World" and sometimes its an embarrasment. Even with his miniscule budget relative the other teams as well as all the rule restrictions on the Hummer, Robby still manages to make alot of noise at the Dakar and be very competitive. It also does'nt hurt that he's a Legend over there. And do you know why that is Mark Miller? Because Robby is one of the most exciting and skilled race car drivers that will ever grace this Earth. I am in awe when I see the stuff this guy does and I often ask myself "How the hell does he do that?" Check out the flying stage 10 video and ask yourself has Mark Miller ever driven that fast? I don't think so. Thats why Robby has people hanging off his truck and Mark Miller sounds like his date ditched him at the prom.

They in turn beat him consistently , fairs fair. He is not a "Legend over there" He has not won ONE Dakar bit much saying that. Vatanen is a LEGEND. Peterhansel the winning-est Driver/Rider in the DAKAR.
