Yates close to sponsorship..and a 3rd team?: Doug Yates, who has been worried that he might not make it to year two as a NASCAR team owner, is doing better now, according to Roush, a fellow Ford team owner, who said sponsorship is coming through for Yates -- not only enough sponsorship to keep Yates' two teams going but to allow Yates to expand to a three-car operation [currently #28, #38). No word on who the third driver might be.

Maybe Menards? Ha ha

Ya Think??

The Cat is so full of chit these days... used to like him, but not any more.
Jack Rousch is the devil. They may get sponsorship but they won't get much help from him. Menard's could do better....
The third Yates team will come from Roush when he cuts to four.
That's what I always thought too... unless they are looking at absorbing another team on top of that.

BTW, Kenseth is now the only Roush driver not signed after 2009.
I'm thinking Jamie McSquirmy is going to get an opportunity to exit his contract early. The performance just isn't there.
which fits the rumors from a couple months ago that Dale Junior wanted Kenseth in the #5, and his mentor Martin is just keeping it warm....

Its not like HMS hasn't given rides to friends of his drivers before. Ricky Craven got the #25 because JG was his friend. Mears got the #5 because of his friendships with JJ and JG. At least Kenseth can win some races for HMS....
