I see the 43 team replaced Irwin. I doubt it will happen, but it seems like we ran best when he was on our side. One can hope, but without RG running a full time gig, it seems doubtful.

Don't hold your breath on that.

Pretty sure all indications are that the announcement will not be NASCAR related. (NOT INDY CAR EITHER) Robby and his Speed Energy product seem to have a focus on Off Road and will involved street cars of any kind. While disappointing to the majority of his fans, I expect that not being able to fund a Sprint Cup car at a race like 'Dega this upcoming weekend must be killing him deep down inside and his disappointment is far greater than ours.

is this the "monster" announcement I heard about a while back, or is this something else?

Would it be out of the realm of possibilities to have Greg as an advisor for the select full races Robby decides to run? One can dream i know.

I don't see Greg returning to RGM even if Robby were running cup fulltime. One of the main reason's Greg supposedly left was to spend more time with his family, he didn't like doing shocks, he didn't like the fact that Robby's crew chief needed to wear multiple hats. I also would not want to turn back the clock and hear a very dissatisfied crew chief talking to his driver.

I don't believe Miles Stanley is with the team anymore. I think he left after the Fontana race. So assume a new CC for the roadies, but I doubt Irwin would be interested in RGM

have to give up the nascar ghost....you guys really like it that much? (Road Courses aside?)

Energy Drinks are bailing on the series - RGM bucking that trend seems like a very long shot.

Rob's got enough gravitas in the off-road world to start a series and seriously pump up the exposure...that would be very fun to watch. I can't keep track of SCORE, BITD, LOORS, etc.....too many series for the casual fan.

Sort of the same reason NFL pulls the best numbers (always) - everyone knows when games are on....it's the same every week.

I think if SPEED ENERGY is making enough money for Robby to support a full season of NASCAR, Robby wouldn't need NASCAR at that point. I think he would/should focus on DAKAR or some other offroad venture instead. And that would be perfectly fine with me. :-)

If you are a racer you still want to run against the best. Right now the best is in NASCAR. I believe if RGM had the funds needed, RGM would still be running. You cant tell me the rush of beating all Hendrick teams would be the same as beating a team that spent $80k on an offroad truck. JMO

I agree with you, run with the best... BUT, lets look at the age. To basically start a brand new team and run competitively could take a couple years. Ok, thats at least 2 years from now, but, he still needs to make Speed a success, thats easily 2 to 5 years from now. So, realistically, it would take at LEAST 5 years to be a contender.

I get the feeling Robby realizes this, thus his recent push in something hes already successful in... Off Road!!!

ooh... the trucks that robby is competing with and against are WAAAY more than $80k btw. there is a used geiser trophy truck for sale now at a discounted price of $350k... new ones routinely run over half a mill...
