Petty's cars are built by Roush-Fenway, engines supplied by Roush-Yates. It would require a HUGE investment by Dodge to ramp up a engine program in a very short period of time and also beef up fabrication capabilities with RPM.
RGM already has a small engine program in place and they also build their own cars. If I were Dodge, I would take a seriously look at investing in RGM since they already have much of the infrastructure in place. All Dodge is buying with RPM is the Petty name, IMO.
