Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 11 of the 2012 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon finished 4th in stage 10 & is now down over 19 minutes in the overall standings. Cars begin stage 11 at 7:44am/et (9:44am local). Raceday chat will be available throughout the entire 2012 Dakar Rally. Raceday chat now works on the Ipad & Iphone.

COURSE OVERVIEW

For the Dakar's first day in their country, Peruvians will be entitled to two special stages and additional kilometres for the motorcyclists. After a day spent switching between off-piste sections and areas interspersed with rivers, they will benefit from a moment of camaraderie?: a specific bivouac will be set up for them before they continue exploring Peru. The concept, which had not been tried out again since the camp of Foum Zguid in Morocco during the 2007 Dakar, will also create a major obstacle which will affect the management of the race. The assistance vehicles will not be authorized in the maintenance area, where only the motorcyclists and quad riders will be able to help each other.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't racing about going fast and taking risks? It is when I race. I don't ask officials to slow other competitors if they're faster than me. I have to go faster.

It reminds me of the stories about the French: Do you know why the planted trees all along the Camps Elysee in Paris? So the German army could march in the shade. For Sale: French army rifle. Never fired, only dropped once.

Now we all could see how the French reacted,how RG was a menace for overall win!!
They scared the shit out of them, panicing and running around like chickens without a head!!
Peterass will have his 10th win!, but what was he scared!!
Hope RG wins the 3 last stages!!

I'm still here watching and waiting, any comment I may make will be when the cause of the stoppage has been divulged, as per the over all adventure so far..............It's been just that, an adventure and the thrill of being a Robby fan needs its own definition.

yea, your right , but these panicing French idiots shown there real mentality!!
Robby was by far away the fastest driver(with Nassar) and the better car...and Peterpan couldn't handle it alone!!,just like crying Roma and Holocwitz....

The Dakar is loosing his credibility!! due to French behavior!!

I will go back to my statment I made earlier.......when you don't have a vested interest in something you will try to win at any cost. The mini drivers are like nasser "bring your helmet".

That is the difference between RG and the rest. RG put his heart and soul into this to make his car more competitive this year. He went back and made changes to the hummer while everyone else built new cars with lots of $$ from factories. RG is owner/designer/driver of his team and not afraid to do what it takes to win.

Win or loose you have to respect Robby Gordon for what he has done. If not this year next year and the next and the next until he wins, Robby has repersented the USA in a classy way....win or loose Robby is the "Class of the field".
