Jan 11th, 2012 Dakar Rally Stage 10 Race Info & Discussion

Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 10 of the 2012 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon was the WINNER of stage 9 & is only down 5m58s in the overall standings. Nasser Al Attiyah did not finish stage 9, so he is out of the rally. Cars begin stage 10 at 7:44am/et (9:44am local). Raceday chat will be available throughout the entire 2012 Dakar Rally. COURSE OVERVIEW

The drivers will be overcome with even more intense sensations early in the morning. It is precisely at the beginning of the special stage that they will be deeply moved by a spectacular view, combining sand and waves, which continues for several kilometres. The theme will remain constant, since the most experienced experts will be able to surf on the dunes which stretch out for around a hundred kilometres. On the other hand, the difficult fesh-fesh area that will have to be tackled at the end of the special stage will bring everyone back to the tough reality of the long-distance rally.

What a total shame for Robby that they are playing these games with him at this point in the rally. All that hard work to get to where he is. Just a complete shame and Nasser not staying around to be a team mate after Robby supported him at the start of the rally like he did. Add Nasser to the POS list!

Allegedly??? Check out the video....what Mr. Peter did was pretty dangerous/risky in my opinion - had he stopped the biker could have used the side of the mini to brace himself from going downstream with the bike - but a race is a race

If he did get a DQ, i wonder how the South American race fans will react, they obviously thinl Robby is god... Could be a huge black eye for the rally

i think they are not going to penalize peterhandshole after knocking over that biker in stage 9 because he's FRENCH, im wondering what would happen if robby was the one who knocked over the biker

Look, on the stage 10 Quotes thread - you see the French translation. If there was an airtube diverted from the tires to the engine intake, that's a big deal - assuming blowing compressed air in the engine boosts performance.

TOG - you have done an amazing job on this site - The Drama in this Dakar is amazing - the threads and shortcuts - awesome - I now see that the NASCAR stuff is small change to the complexity of keeping this site on top of the Dakar event. Amazing job and dedication!
