Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 10 of the 2012 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon was the WINNER of stage 9 & is only down 5m58s in the overall standings. Nasser Al Attiyah did not finish stage 9, so he is out of the rally. Cars begin stage 10 at 7:44am/et (9:44am local). Raceday chat will be available throughout the entire 2012 Dakar Rally. COURSE OVERVIEW

The drivers will be overcome with even more intense sensations early in the morning. It is precisely at the beginning of the special stage that they will be deeply moved by a spectacular view, combining sand and waves, which continues for several kilometres. The theme will remain constant, since the most experienced experts will be able to surf on the dunes which stretch out for around a hundred kilometres. On the other hand, the difficult fesh-fesh area that will have to be tackled at the end of the special stage will bring everyone back to the tough reality of the long-distance rally.

In all the years I've watched European racing there is no way to win against the FIA. Anyone who fights usually gets penalized more. The FIA is a dictatorship that writes it's rule book on a chalkboard. I hope I'm wrong but Robby's hope is slim to none.

RG is used to that type of racing, it is called NASCAR.

Which is also sanctioned by the FIA via ACCUS. NASCAR Rulebook I have (2011 WMT/K&N) even states that because of that sanctioning the FIA can at any time make a NASCAR race count for the World Drivers Championship (presently synonymous with the F1 drivers title).

I have just saw the interview when Robby arrived at the bivuoac (fox sports( and he is very confident that everything is ok, same system that was approved in the scruttering and same system as last year, so come on, let's win this thing and show the world how Robby can beat anyone in 4wd (factory or semi-factory team) with an excellent 2wd vehicle and independent effort ! ! Go Robby GO!

don't really James,they have goofy rules also.Like -No rookie can ride for the factory 'A' team (aka the Ben Spies rule) the tire rule, the number of engines rule.ect.

I do believe World Super Bike and Australian V-8 series seem to be OK. But I'm sure the guy's that run those series can tell you of issues.

just saw on the today stage video on dakar.com they say the aso check the hummer last night and the rest we already know,. so,. we have to wait till who knows when.

Recap:

It should be noted that the car race officials' committee today published the following press release: “On completion of the 9th stage (Antofagasta-Iquique), following observation of technical non-compliance on vehicle No. 303 (Robby Gordon) (article 1P and 3P of the technical rules), the Car Race Officials' Committee has decided to disqualify No. 303 from the race. The driver has appealed against this decision. During appeals, decisions are placed on hold. As a result, vehicle No. 303 will continue the rally until the outcome of the appeal”.

Note: The appeal could take up to 3 weeks before getting heard, so they will continue to run the rally.
