STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: San Rafael > San Juan

Connection 291km | Special Stage 208 | Total 499km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Andes Cordillera, ever-present throughout the 2012 Dakar, is very demanding for the drivers. The crossing of rivers and the many holes and stones that the drivers will have to avoid during the day's special stage, will make the terrain particularly gruelling. The sturdiness of the engines will be put to the test if the drivers do not remain attentive. But the altitude and the reliefs provide both magnificent landscapes, with every shade of red possible, and small acrobatic challenges, such as a steep climb that the motorcyclists will definitely have to finish in first gear.

this was at CP3 NICE

Looks like the Hummers have gained back time at CP3! Al-Attiyah is flying!

Nasser is in. Now we have to wait and see how the others fare.

Man!
Nasser is driving the piss out of that beast.

He gained back 2 min from WP3 to end and Robby lost another :30

For now Pertehead 3hd overall.

I thought A was the end of timed but it looks like F is it
Nasser 1st at this point and Robby 2nd
That is with 3 in.

19:01 Cars: The Hummers on top at the finishing line
Three cars have finished the stage and for the moment Nasser Al-Attiyah is the quickest with a time of 2:28’20”, 39” quicker than his team-mate Robby Gordon and 4’54” ahead of Stephane Peterhansel

Robby still gonna be 2nd overall 54 seconds back and Nassar gained 3 minutes on the overall time, not a great day but a great day...

That is at WPA correct?
Looks Like WPF is different.

Lost time early and finished the day better than they were at the start. No podium for Robby today, but overall, not bad at all.

They just showed Cody's crash on Eurosport, he's a very lucky boy. He had quite a substantial accident.

Was nice though to see other riders stop to help him.

They just interviewed Robby and Nasser too. Not sure if it's been mentioned here but Nasser was running the same tyres as yesterday due to a problem with the support truck. I think driving for Robby has been a culture shock for him but hopefully he is enjoying the experience.
