2011 Talladega #2 Race Weekend Info & Discussion

Join in here and discuss all the weekend action for the 2011 Talladega #2 cup race. Robby Gordon will attempt to qualify  & IT IS a full race. Here is the weekend schedule for RGM at the Alabama track.

FRIDAY , OCTOBER 21st

 Practice              2:30pm - 3:15 pm/et   ( TV - SPEED )
 Happy Hour         4:00pm - 5:00 pm/et   ( TV - SPEED )

I had a smile on my face all day! Gordon and Bayne had an opportunity to win it and that was very encouraging. I had the scanner going for the first time, it was crazy to hear the politics behind pushing and being pushed. Gordon was forced in the pits because of something in the rear end, oh well. We had great tv time today, and it was awesome seeing us in the front. Glad we raced Talledega, it was some great advertisment, keep going Robby you got it!

So disappointed for Robby, he had a winning car today and this is very disheartening for me, so I can not imagine what he is feeling =( So proud to see the 7 out front leading laps and moving and grooving through the field with ease...nothing to be ashamed of there! Do not understand why Trevor Bayne felt compelled to leave us, it was worth a try at least to see if they could still dance, you should never just quit...but that comes with experience and age... Sorry to see that in the end Robby was forced to the pits without a dance partner. You looked good today, got some great exposure for the Speed Energy Pink car...(easy to find, love that) makes me proud to say I am a Robby Gordon fan!! =) All and all a great race.

If only RGM could stop the small part failures and finish as strong as they deserve.. it is sad. From my motocross days, I learned early that part failures are most often due to poor preparation. However, I did enjoy watching us charge to the front! Thanks Trevor Bayne and Robby for a good show while it lasted...

More reasons why its just maddening they decided to not run the Daytona July race.


This team needs to run plates and roadies and then fill in the rest.

It was a great run for RG and the team. Bayne and him were unstoppable. I still don't understand why RG did not stay out without a dance partner or try pushing Bayne. With that late race caution he may have finished 29th or better with another hook up. Maybe he wanted to save the car for Daytona 2012.
