We even got the extra points Scott stayed out and led a lap
;~)
I understand they aren't putting effort into the races they weren't planning on running in the first place. But what's the point in showing up if you have zero interest in points and you're your own sponsor? It's not like Robby's gonna lose Speed Energy backing, and he's obviously going to qualify on time every week with teams like Keselowski and TJ Bell being the only teams you have to outrun to make the show. I'd prefer they just put their effort into showing up let's say 18 races a year and actually put up a good showing in those events, similar to what the Wood Brothers do. Just show up when there's good money to be made and you don't have to waste the expenses traveling to the Poconos and New Hampshires on the schedule
I agree, Its pointless to run races like this, put the effort in the full races. However it does get the speed energy name out there.
not pointless...maybe for us fans, but if they can keep the car out without wrecking it; hopefully get some helpful data to improve the handling/speed of the car; get a few points; bring home a little cash; and keep the Speed Energy name out there. Save money for the races where Robby can be most competitive.
@Hank,If out of the top 35 in points and if there is a rain out for qualifying it will came down to attempts. The Wood bro's don't have to worry about attempts becouse of the Daytona win.
The Wood bro's just prep a Roush car.Paid testing is a fair plan.IMO
If you run all the races and consisdered in the NASCAR family you get to put a few more stickers on your car's front quaterpanel, for every sticker you get you get a little more out of the purse...the NASCAR pay system is a very hard system to understand but the guy who finishes higher doesn't always make more money than the people he out ran, mainly because he was a little light in the NASCAR sticker deparment...So the 7 car needs to be at the track weekly to keep in good standing and hold on to as many as those stickers as possible...
Anyone see the ARCA race with the 25's pitstops. Rear tire changer wearing SPEED uniform. Cost him the lead during the race, and probably the win during last stop..
Yeah, I saw that. He tripped over the tire.
Yeah, what a dumb ass. And then he forgot to close the sky gate and let the fog come in. That's the last time a uniform is loaned to a little ARCA team.

Oh, wait a sec....I don't think that was the point of your post. Never mind.
@ WJM LMAO brother...Thanks
And a Start & Park car gets a purse pay out check of around $70,000. Unless the car gets hurt the cost of playing the S&P game is much less so there is s good profit margin. Even if the cost of running a few laps is 50% of that it's is $35,000. HELLO! That is a lot of money. How much did all of us earn this week? Plus, some of the money RGM spends to S&P a car goes to pay salaries and provide weekly jobs for some guys that like to stay employed.

I wish all of you that have a problem with supporting the business plan that RGM has for this year would just mark your calenders with the dates that are for sure to have Robby behind the wheel. Tune in here on Monday morning and be part of what is going on. On the weeks that Robby won't be driving go camping or to the beach for the weekend and forget about this forum.
Nemechek isn't start & parking 35 Cup races because he has head movies about landing that Fortune 500 $25 million sponsor. It keeps the shop open. Helps put a paycheck in a few hands. Puts food on the table. A roof over some little heads. It also helps fund some full NW races every year.

It also helps to keep your "spot" in the garage. Important.
