According to a member of a Truck team who asked not to be identified, Childress took off his jewelry before approaching Busch in the garage area and struck him with his fist. The two were separated, traded insults and then Childress grabbed Busch in a headlock and struck him again before the incident was broken up.

The crew member said Childress initiated the incident.

Good for the old man, but I really wonder if he'll get the same penalty Robby got.

tog is right... KB didnt call the cops. regardless of whatever the incident was, and whatever you think about KB.... he didnt bitch out like KW did!!!!
Dude...no offense but Richmond was over-rated. Richmond had ONE season...... Just like Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth. He was good but he would'nt have taken any championships away from Earnhardt. Part of what made Richmond so entertaining is that he was not a points racer. His one big season he won only two more races than Earnhardt and still lost the championship by 300 points.
Over-rated? Seriously. In 1986 he had 7 wins, 14 top 5's and 18 top 10's. He lost the championship by 300 points because Earnhardt had 5 wins, 17 top 5's and 24 top 10's. Yes Dale Sr was far more consistant, but that was Tim's first year with Hendrick. There is no way to know what could have happened if Tim didn't get sick, but you can't diss Tim like that and say that he was overrated.

Newman might be overrated, but how in the world can you say that Hamlin and Kenseth are overrated? Kenseth won the Cup in 2003 and Hamlin came in 2nd in 2010 and is still young. Do you have to win 7 cup titles to be legitimate? You could have thrown a Biffle in there, but definitely not Kenseth.
I agree Rob he only had one season in a winning cup car and his stats are as you say for 1986. Don't forget about he also was:

USAC Sprint Car Rookie of the Yr. 1978
Indy 500 Rookie of the Yr. 1980
NA$CAR driver of the Yr. 1986/w Dale Sr.

Dale Sr only drove a cup car, not to take anything away from Sr. he still had talent, but to be able to drive many types of cars you have to have major car control.

And Lance........the reason Tim wasen't a points racer is because he drove for many teams, kind of tough to run for points when the team wasen't a top cup team that could win.
Previous to driving for hendrick he drove for Blue Max which won a championship with Rusty Wallace in 1989.

Many would say RCR was not a top team in 1984 and yet Earnhardt went on to build that program to the top team in the sport.

Tim's indy 500 effort was decent but nowhere near what say a Marco Andretti or Jr Hildebrand did in their rookie seasons.

Look, I'm a Tim Richmond fan. But I do take exception to the assertion he wouldve taken championships from Earnhardt because his body of work was not strong enough to indicate anything. One person took championships from Earnhardt; Jeff Gordon.
Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon?
Richard wasn't beating Kyle because of the racing incident. He wanted to remind Kyle that 128 is not an acceptable speed in a 45 zone. And if NASCAR wasn't going to punish him, RC would.
This has nothing to do with Robby, so who gives a flying fuck? What is this crap - nascar.com?
@Sean, it'll otherwise will be a slow news week.May be a good week for politics (just not here)
110 % behind ya bud this is supposed to be Planet ROBBY not days of our lives
Feel free to change channels.
RC's response today was great. Basically said I take responsibility for my actions. No politically correct apology that he didn't mean. Only cost him $150 large to say he whooped kyle busch's ass. I bet he thinks it was worth it.
