Some people just worry too much about the little things. =)
That was a good laugh. Thanks, Tim.
Lol! Thats hilarious..... But seriously, will the souvenir truck be at Kansas? ;)
Hey TOG,

I suspect the Hummer will be running without the restrictor plates that were forced upon them in the Dakar race? Does anyone actually know what type of fuel consumption they will be using while running without this restrictor? Can they really go as far as everyone seems they can?

Will anyone be running the TT Truck as well? And if so, is Bob going to drive ever again or is he "retired". Ran into him a week ago and he seemed in pretty good shape, why doesn't he run anything anymore? I have always wondered why he is never in a second car being they have quite a few laying around and the support team is down there?
No to the TT, and Robby said in interview, unrestricted about 600hp. Just for reference my LateModel with 600ish hp gets 5 mpg.
Hmmm, That means 3-4 in Baja, good luck with that.

Hope it works, truethfully, I'll bet the Hummer does better than the trophy truck! In fact the power to weight ratio is better, and it's basically a truggy, probably win if he doesn't hit something he doesn't see. The fact that he needs to pass, should be interesting. I douubt he will ever get to use thye additional speed. Might be able to theoretically possible to go 165, I am not sure anyone has the balls to go 165 in the desert.

Crossing my fingers, but you cannot win on SPEED alone. Better to Finish than DNF. Got enough of those finishes.
@Mike, 600ish....more like 650ish....LOL
Baja Bob's back is shot. Will not be likely racing any long offroad races anymore.
Didn't bob run the hummer a few years ago in the 500
yes he tested it.
I'd like to see a LEGENDS class just for guys like Baja Bob , Ivan Stewart , Walker Evans , etc .
It would be like the days of old . I'd also bet a few of them could STILL kick some serious
butt !
There is a Legends series called NORRA. Once a year they put the Mexican 1000 on. The last Mexican 1000 was May 4th -May 8th. This series does one race a year in Baja and the race was designed to bring the old legendary race cars back on the track with some legendary drivers.

Many people have fell in love with this and have been barn searching for old race cars or reproducing some famous old races cars. There is a whole section on RDC called Vintage Racing that is about this race and topic.

Here is NORRA's website; http://www.norra.com/

And Yes Baja Bob has competed in last years and this years event in his Famous Chenowith with restored Toyota colors on it. Robby's old Hay Hauler class 8 raced in it. McMillins bring out Corky's old Chenowith class 1, Walker Evens runs one of his old class 8 Dodges. Parnelli Jones raced his Big Oly Bronco. Even the Oldsmobile Cutless made famous by James Garner was restored and raced.

Here is a link to RDC and some pictures from the race.
