Join in here and discuss all the weekend action for the 2011 Phoenix #1 cup race. Robby Gordon will drive the #7 Bashas/SPEED Energy Dodge.The team had a 14th place finish last year at Phoenix.Here is the weekend schedule for RGM at the Arizona track.

 Practice             2:30pm - 3:50 pm/et   ( 9th Quickest )
 Happy Hour        6:00pm - 7:25 pm/et   ( 26th Quickest )

I am hoping that Robby just sandbagged the 2nd practice to get an earlier spot in qualifying.

Does anyone know if the track is exected to heat up and get slick during the course of qualifying?

I was watching on RaceView (works for practice this year!) and it looked like RG made a couple of q runs late in the 2nd session. Looks like maybe a mid pack qualifying effort but, a fast race car.

Robby's car looks very very good so far. Just don't go comparing to Hendrick cars just yet.. With the new Qual order.. They appear to really be sandbagging for a better draw.

Kyle Busch just gave Robby some major props during his media address today. He was asked what kind of things he likes to do in his free time and he said "I love to go to the sand dunes in the desert and mess around there but I don't go as crazy as Robby Gordon does while I am there because Robby goes all out and I am on the kid hills compared to the hills Robby runs on."
