Hello Friends,
People get way too caught up into practice speeds and this always happens before EVERY plate race, so i am gonna post the disclaimer now and refer people to it when necessary. 1. Practice speeds are just about useless at a plate track, though it is a bit more indicative at Daytona. This is because when at least 2 cars draft together the wind resistance allows the car to go faster. (If you want the college explanation you can see your local Engineering professor) 2. The important thing is to see WHO you drat well with, NOT how fast you draft. So if Robby is 1st in practice, that does not necessarily mean he has the best car, though he still could. 3. The good thing is, is if Robby is down towards the bottom of the speed chart, unless hes way off, that means he didn't push it to far as it is practice.

There will be an entrance quiz over this in order to get into race chat on Sunday. Kidding... Maybe?

Besides the speeds that are posted now were before NASCAR made the rules changes

Bump, Talladega Style
well said, Sir Alex.

Practice speeds ONLY matter for the Go or Go homers ( since they will make single runs in practice ) & they will more than likely OUTQUALIFY the locked in cars.....Impound race...
Missed the televised programming... So who did the #7 draft well with (I know its only a plate race practice) and how good was the car in traffic?
Well, top and center of the front page of PR shows a video of the 7 drafting with Terry Labonte.
I am walking out the door on my way to work with my new note pad thing right now and...oh ..there's a dead horse let me beat it a little. Rob mighht have won Daytona as he was in a strong surge if it were not for stewart moving down and not waiting for a "drafting partner". I thought I would never get a chance to say that again.

P.S. This country is taking a pounding with all the wacky weather and crop "circumstances".
