For Immediate Release

Charlotte, N.C. (August 31, 2010) – Kevin Conway, the leading 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver, and ExtenZe Racing officially announce today that they will be teaming with Robby Gordon Motorsports (RGM) for the balance of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season beginning this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

For Sunday’s running of the Emory Healthcare 500, fans will find Conway behind the wheel of the No. 7 ExtenZe Racing Toyota. Conway heads into the Atlanta race weekend leading Terry Cook in the Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie Standings by 154 points (192-38) and looks to better his 31st-place finish at Atlanta earlier this year.

Prior to making this announcement, Conway had one start for RGM at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this month and 21 starts this year for Front Row Motorsports (FRM), capturing 21 straight Raybestos Rookie of the Race awards and giving FRM its best finish since its inception in 2005 with a 14th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway on July 3rd. He also became the first Raybestos Rookie to lead a lap at the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 25th since Jamie McMurray did so in 2003.

“I am thrilled to finally be able to announce our signing with Robby Gordon Motorsports,” says Conway. “The Bristol race a couple weekends ago came together very late and gave everyone just a quick peek at what was possibly to come. Now that everything is in place I can’t wait to take to the track this weekend in Atlanta in the No. 7 ExtenZe Racing Toyota.

“I am very thankful for this opportunity Robby has given me and ExtenZe. I’m looking forward to helping keep the No. 7 in the top-35, gaining more seat time and finishing races while reaching my ultimate goal of claiming the 2010 Raybestos Rookie of the Year title with RGM,” added Conway.

“Moving our racing program with Kevin over to Robby Gordon Motorsports was a no brainer really,” said Robert Wilhovsky, Director of Motorsports Marketing for ExtenZe. “Robby has a great organization with very good equipment and a car locked into the top-35 owner’s points that will allow us to get Kevin more seat time and help him continue to grow as a driver.

“We look forward to the remainder of the year with RGM and are glad we get to have him and his organization join Kevin’s quest to be crowned the 2010 Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver,” added Wilhovsky.

“We are excited to have ExtenZe Racing and Kevin Conway join Robby Gordon Motorsports. This is an excellent opportunity for everyone involved, and I am excited to have Kevin behind the wheel of the No. 7,” added Robby Gordon. “I hope that we will be able help Kevin bring home the Rookie of the Year Award while expanding our team and his on-track experience.”

IMO - I think Kevin will get better and feel more confident this weekend. (1) Having a team totally behind him. (2) This will be his 2nd time at Atlanta. (3) Miles and Kevin will both be trying to prove their abilities. (4) RGM usually has a good car at Atlanta. Have to think Kevin will do better than just running around trying stay out of everyone's way this time around...going back to tracks again should give him more confidence.
This is what Robby needed to help with a very tough season!!! A few months ago, I was willing to donate $100,000 for a entry level postion at RGMS. It would be a dream to work at RGMS!!!!
I do care. I care a lot. I am a deaf man and big racing fan and back in 1993 when he was in the valvoine car, I was at a CART fund raiser and myself and another deaf man were playing pool. Robby wanted to play so he came over and wrote down, can i join?, not knowing that I can talk and read lips, I voiced out sure. But i told him we need a partner for my deaf buddy. He ran over and grabbed Paul Tracy. Paul played 2 games with us. Robby and I won one and paul and my buddy one one. Then Robby took me over to bar area, brought us a beer and introduce us to his Cart crew. next day at the Milwaukee Mile, he spotted me and said had good time and hope we enjoy the race. A true human being and a racers fan. Im sure I spoke cocky towards conway cuz Im still mad of stupid rookies crashing at montreal on the last lap that was pointless for them. Yes ill be rooting for conway, but rather someone more experience like Robby have that kind of stong sponsorship backing.
Maybe it's wishful thinking...but I think Kevin will be better than what you saw earlier this season. Top 35 is still very reachable.

The 71 will have Andy Lally most races as a S&P.
The 26 & 38 still have to make the races on speed (No guarantees there).
Good chance the #19 & #98 will close shop.

Not to mention RGM has a decent lead over 36th in points.

I say give Kevin, Robby & RGM a chance first...I would so love to see RGM with 2 cars racing at tracks this year (Dega). That's when it will be really cool!
Miles and Kevin are going to Atlanta with RGM "A"grade equipment. And this is a 'full' race. Give the guy a chance.
Just remember a short time ago when a past champion totaled a RGM car in practice?
sounds like the 'plan' is unfolding. Im excited, looking forward to all the upcoming info!
I think if Robby has the Conway cat signed for next year you can bet dollars to doughnuts that the 07 will be under Conway when all is said and done and the "7 car" will be Robbys' crate.........................I hope
I'm talking "all said and done"07 will have the top 35 points thing while Rob Quals the 7...I also said "next year"
They can switch numbers and points around. Conway in the 07 next year in the top 35, running the whole season with Extenze, RG in the 7 and out of the top 35, running select races as sponsorship allows. I think that's what we will see.

Or, maybe RG can look for a ride with another team, like Dale Earnhardt did? Let someone else drive his car and race for someone else? Don't shoot me, TOG, just hoping out loud.
Well thats just ridiculous that you are as you say "cocky" towards Conway due to rookies crashing at Montreal Was this Kevin? NO! So why hold the actions of someone else against him?? If I ran into a someone who was rude who was white, black, man, woman, adult, child, deaf, blind or mute I would not go and hold their rudeness or ignorance against someone else because they were white, black, man, woman, adult, child, deaf, blind or mute also. Everyone is their own person and deserve to be treated that way. Your "excuse" to act that way toward Kevin is ludicrous and childish.
Great news for RGM going forward. If anyone doesn't think this is a positive thing they need their head examined. Conway will run all the laps, RG would of kept starting and parking the races he didnt have a sponsor for. More points = more time in the top 35. Top 35 = better possibility of a 2nd car. 2nd car = more information.
Agree completely. Money buys speed. RGM needs more money and we got it. Maybe they can help Kevin develop into a good racer. He has next to no major stock car experience prior to this year so it's no wonder he's struggled at times. But, I'll say this for him...he's not torn up any equipment and he's not done anything stupid that has messed with other's races. You have to respect that.
