Like most of you, I hate to see the way the things have been going lately. I see the same thing weekly, decent in practice, struggle in qualifying, decent in Happy Hour, start decent in first few laps, then "Loose"...from there on it's downhill.

Listening to the scanner, Walter & Robby seem to communicate well. Walter seems to know what the car needs based on the feedback given.

However, if you listen to other drivers on the scanner and even Larry McReynolds, Tim Brewer and others, Robby is NOT the only driver struggling with the COT. Kurt Busch, Elliott Sadler and others have struggled just as bad. The biggest difference is the racing luck. Robby got the car dialed in okay last week at Bristol, but got caught in somebodys wreck...it happens...it's Bristol. Fuel mileage has created alot of Robby's problems, he seems to have to pit a lap or 2 sooner than most and a caution comes out, or like last night he needs a caution and it doesn't come out until the leader gets by him.

It's not just one thing! It's racing luck, figuring out the COT, Dodge is way behind this year, bad fuel mileage, new crew chief, etc. It's a recipe that equals these results. One bright spot is plate racing: a 6th, 8th and 11th and plate tracks. Talladega is coming up soon!

I know several have posted let's send an email to a potentila sponsor, or a thank you to sponsors who have joined Robby this season. WHAT ABOUT SENDING AN EMAIL TO RGM, TO ROBBY...AS HIS FANS (THE BEST OUT THERE!) WE ARE BEHIND YOU AND WE SUPPORT YOU! Get some positive energy flowing through the shop. Robby needs us now more than ever. It's easy to jump onboard when everything is going well, but real fans show their support in the darkest hours.

I know, as a Alabama Crimson Tide fan. We have had years of coaches, embarassing losses and controversy, but it made it all so much sweeter on Saturday when we rolled #9 Clemson and held two All-American running backs to 20 rushing yards! We finally were able to stand tall and yell "Roll Tide Roll!"

Robby will bounce back and it will be great to see him back in victory lane!

ROBBY GORDON FANS STAND TALL AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! Buy Monster products like crazy! Drink Jim Beam! and shop at Menards! but most of all let RGM know...We're Here to Stay!

Sorry, but Robby is responsible for Robby. Fans complaining about bad performance isn't going to tilt the sponsor wheel in the wrong direction. Companies aren't stupid. They can read the results to know how a driver is doing.
Even running bad, Robby is still a top 20 marketable driver in the cup series.
Agreed!
Absolutely. Maybe even a top 15. But he has to actualy be in the race for that to be valid. Dare I fall back on a rant about the top 35 and Robby's qualifying?
I have and will keep cheering for Robby on the race track and especially off road!
Mike I am a Robby fan but I Agree with Garret,This team has performed very badly with Walter at the helm, No matter what peoples opinions are the stats speak for themselves
we run like shit now !!
Last year RGM was 34 in points after Darlington with the Cot races being the worst, That was with Greg Irwin at the Helm, Robby hired Gene Nead next, With him at the helm RGM
went from 34 to 22 with the COT races being their best races. It is not the COT it is the people working on the COT, Bottom line is Richmond is one of Robbys worst tracks, he needs to stay in the top 35 in points and he needs a New or old (GeneNead) face to straighten HIS mess out now.
Gene ftw!!!
he really did run good in the COT with gene nead. not sure what happened with them, but robby needs to find gene and kiss and make up.
# New crew chief for Robby? UPDATE 3 Sospenzo: hearing crew chief Gene Nead has parted ways with the #7 Robby Gordon Motorsports team, no word on the new crew chief or what Neads plans are.(9-20-2007)
UPDATE: hearing that Nead will head to the #21 Wood Brothers/JTG Racing team, to take over for Michael 'Fatback' McSwain, who will step down at the end of the season. Hearing former Hendrick Motorsports/Ginn Racing crew chief, Peter Sospenzo, going to crew chief for Robby Gordon.(9-21-2007)
UPDATE 2: #7-Robby Gordon is at Dover International Speedway this weekend without a crew chief after parting ways with Gene Nead on Monday. Gordon said that he and Nead parted amicably. When asked what he was looking for in a crew chief, the Cup owner/driver answered simply, "I don't know." This weekend he plans to use either a car chief or team engineer in that role. He is currently looking for a crew chief, though. "Yes, I'm looking," he said. "Gene and myself just have differences in philosophy on how things need to be operated."
Aka, I wanna call the shots, but Gene's job was to call the shots.
I saw the improvements during that time and I wondered wtf happened when he was let go. But I didn't fire him and i can't bring him back. I would like to think that we all agree that we want to see RGM run well and that is not something that we would argue about. I don't think that me complaining on here for 13 straight weeks is going to change personel, and it won't make me feel any better about things. Maybe it's just the way I view things.
Wow, Sunday night my hub said " you need to find another driver" & I said WHYYYYYYYY? I'm a fan for many reasons, WINS oh yessssss they would be just wonderful, ( in fact fabulous!) But I'm a fan mainly for the person RG is.............. determined, talented, smart, bull headed.....friendly.... I could go on & on but as Montoya says ( hehheee) "I'm NOT a corporate puppet!" You GO ROBBY! I'm a fan forever, wouldn't miss a race, & I DO STAND tall & proud, I take crap ALL the time from Stewart, Jr & Gordon fans.... I LIKE being the black sheep. I'm not like everyone else, just like Robby...................& all of us here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
