What, hey TOG what? you can't leave us like that!!!! Damit Gumby
Patrick Carpentier in the 26 at Michigan and their GTW GPS sponsorship disallowed by Nascar because Sprint said it competes with their products. (from Twitter)
Patrick C. in the 26, Papis in the 13. Robby in the 07 and Mystery driver in the 7
Glad to see Carpentier get another shot. That dude can qualify!
You must have been hiding under a rock the past few hours, TOG explains everything in the Michigan Race discussion but yes we do
I just don't get how a sport thats in a tough situation for drivers to get sponsors go and do what sprint does. We're in a recession here sprint! Guess we could just have 10 cars out there without decals. Or maybe we just drop down to 30 cars.

Maybe I'm going overboard here, but I can't stand crap like this. I can't think of any comparisons in any other sport. The driver needs the sponsor to stay afloat and/or be competitive and the sports' main sponsor says no because it competes with their product.

Is anyone buying up sprint cell phones because they love nascar so much?

Reminds me of the nationwide race here in Iowa last year. Heard a bunch of people say they weren't eating at pizza ranch ever again because they sponsored Kyle Busch. Unrelated, but similar logic.
I blame this ALL on Nascar...Sprints money should buy them sponsorship of the series, not the right to have any cometitor tossed out or prevented from coming in. Nascar has fixed alot of issues with safety, costs and other ares, but sponsorship control needs to be reviewed. If the company doesn't represent the values of Nascar like Penthouse or Playboy, I understand, but not allowing companies to sponsor teams because it conflicts with other participating sponsors is not in the sports best interest. If Nascar signed a deal with Sprint that prevents competitors then hopefully Nascar will not make the mistake again. I will be gald when Sprint is gone as the title sponsor. Imagine if Lowes became the title sponsor and Home Depot & Menards had to leave the sport...and anything Lowes sells other companies can't sponsor a car if it competes with their products...why Nascar?
Its absolutely retarded, BUT the France family and their cohorts pockets are lined with cash upon cash so what do they really care?

If they did care, well you know what would happen....
Mystery driver Kevin Conway, where is Gene when you need him
This goes against the antitrust laws if you ask me. However it would take a ton of bread and law dudes to get this thing resolved. I wonder if the Snapple 7up folks can't get in due to Coke and Pepsi. NAZICAR must not have an official home improvement store or perhaps Sprint is the the only sponsor with that power. I admit i'm not that high minded to give a frig but i'm well aware that it is cramping the sport. Anybody find a nice young girl giving away a nice soft Sprint cooler at the track this year? I sure recall lotsa Winston gear being offered.
64 team withdrawals. Robby only has to beat 4 cars now to make the show.
PJ jones in the 7 according to Jayski
