What should the new Bud Shootout format be?

I noticed a lot of unhappy people with the new Bud Shootout format. It's obvious at this point they can't do what they've always done because they currently don't sponsor the pole award. So, what would be a good format? I propose a dirt track style series of heat races to qualify for a 20 lap min even.t Think about it. Everyone in Nascar gets to participate and with the plates ANYTHING can happen. Someone that no one believes should or could make the main would do it and be a factor. With Robby's excellent record at Daytona as of late, he would certainly be a factor. Any way, that's my idea, what do YOU think?

How about the Top 35 get to qualify, but only 20 get in? Then take the 20,& let them draw for starting position.

You would allow the top 35 in owners points to qualify, however only 20 starting positions. So more than a third of the field DOESN'T start the race. Make 'em really rip off some qualifying times. No easy 500 practice. Right now it's just a leg-up live practice for the 500,& spots are only awarded to those that already won last season.

Oh, I get it - only the top 35 in owner points are allowed the opportunity to qualify for 20 starting positions. I think it lost something in the translation across the Pacific.

I'd use the new format BUT you don't get paid unless your teams car manufacturer wins. Daytona is perfect for team work. It would be the best shoot out ever!

If a Dodge wins all Dodge drivers win, team Dodge wins lead by the winning driver. All Dodge drivers should be in Victory lane as a team. All the Dodge drivers would get paid the same.

If a team shows up for the 500, they should put all car numbers on ping pong balls and do a random draw. With this new format Nascrap has, once again, the single car teams get screwed. If I want to see the top 12 drivers showcased like they always show, I'll tune in on any given Sunday during the season.

I like the heat race idea. Everybody that shows up should at least get a chance to try, given all the $$$ and effort they put into Daytona.

Since BUD is no longer a US company........they should take their POS race out of the states.......and run it in another country......

How about they just can the non-point event and add a real race to the schedule, like Road America....
