So some inside dope on what made RG do so well, is the CC finally getting a handel on the car or is RG just relaying car conditions so the CC can make adjustments? Any way great finish.

When it comes to over the wall guys, you get what you pay for. RG's budget (& "turnover" rep) hurts his chances at getting really solid otw talent. He's got a few loyal guys, who've stuck around with talent, but it's real hard to build a team around them. Here's a scenario, why would a talented changer from say CTS, or NWS go to RGM? Only 1 of 2 reasons, 1: He wants to work shit-tons of hrs during the week,(be over worked & underpaid) & listen to RG on the radio shit talkin the whole crew (when it only takes 1 fumble to fuck the stop) on raceday....masicistic?
2. He wants to use RGM as a stepping stone for a better gig with one of the big boys. This way he can work 40hrs a week, have a benifits pkg that RG can't compete with. Go to the track on raceday & work with a team that showcases talent on every stop. Plus when a stop gets fumbled, they come together like a team (from the top of the box down) & worry about the next stop now, the last stop on Monday.
...Just my observation
Does the team not have the resources to hire competent crew members? I understand that RG is the boss but, does RGM have an engineer or someone that can put together a game plan. Look at Tony S. he hired some great guys and is of course using HM equiptment and engineers. No connection with TOYOTA or their staff? Every week I read these blogs about all this drama with the team and RG. Yes RG has moments but the inconsistancy goes back to "PEOPLE". Kyle B. had the same problem in the race and if you listen to his scanner it sounded like RG was talking. Kyle's CC wanted to know what the specific problem was and of course it "drove like shit". You listen to JJ and Chad they go thru extream discriptions of "loose off" to the point of a 1 thru 5. The difference between 1st or 21st. is setup and adjustment to the track. We all know that RG is very tallented so I would have to say it is the car. To acheive this you have to have communication and people.

That's my 2 cents worth.
"Tony S. hired some great guys"?? You mean RICK HENDRICK hired them.
Ya well Tony hasn't fired 'em
I'm with Jeff on this one.Step up or step out, no one is bigger than the plan. And I'd work for Robby in a heartbeat ( ok 2 heartbeats, I still enjoy the job I have ) Remember people are hired for their skill-show it
Mike
Jeff, is that sarcasim? Cuz RG's the one putting the 33rd place car out on the track every week.
faster pit stops would have helped.
thanking RGM for not having to hang my head in shame with my Robby t-shirt on this Tuesday morning at work.
lets build on this for the rest of the season.
Here Here !!! Went hookin with a good buddy Monday and not having to go through the 34th speech was good. As per the lost spots it goes deeper the more you look at it and after getting the car up to a respectful running spot it has to eat at your heart to give a few back. As far as looking at it deeper if you gain spots or keep your spot on pit stops Robby would have been even better considering the time spacing from 11th to 8th. The car being great on the long runs, there would have been great dividends. In short and simplified what i'm saying is even though the car was wicked fast on long runs a restart in 14th dropping from 12th cost even much more than just 2 spots when you look at the time (lap time) he needed to make up on the cars running away in the spot he previously occupied, 4 seconds seperating 5th to 6th and 3 seconds more from 7th to 8th the two spots lost on pit road were thus amplified. That may not have been shorter but in the end 2 spots on pit road transformed out to almost 6 seconds to make up the 2 spots due to the car needing to "come in". The car slipped a bit in the last run and if Clint B. never spun and killed Harvicks' night (car similar in time needed to come in) we maybe race to a top 12.
6th and 16th....I'd say not a bad weekend (top 20 in cup is a win at this point)....

I didn't watch much of the NASCAR race...I was thinking that maybe when he smacked the wall...he knocked some driveabilty into the car....

Might be a little harsh to ask the question "Can't Robby hire competent crew guys"..........while at times they have struggled, who doesn't? I think those guys work their ass off and should probably be exempt from our criticisizm...if you have a problem with the results...bitch at the Driver....not the crew...the crew are working with what they have.....
The pitguys want nothing more than the best possible stop each and every time, and they beat themselves up plenty after any bad stop . They also replay the pitvideos countless times after each stop to try to improve the next stop.
Does Robby have a pit coach or trainer to work with the guys?
yes
