2009 Las Vegas Race Weekend Discussion

Join in here and discuss all the weekend activities at Las Vegas for Robby Gordon. Here is the schedule for the weekend,all times eastern standard. First practice is Friday, Feb 27 at 3:00 pm , followed by Qualifying at 6:30pm , 2 practices on Saturday,Feb 28, and the race is on Sunday ,March 1st at 3:30 pm. Don't forget live chat on Sunday, from 10am-10pm.

Robby has been in Nascar for as long as he has because he is smart and knows how to drive. If it can be fixed, he will fix it

OK, team. Robby's power plant is probably going south just like the other Toyota engines from TRD in Torrance (See Jayski.com). The cam and lifters are wearing....they're recommending a thicker oil. Hopefully he changes it tonight and the darn thing doesn't grenade prematurely tomorrow. Don't hold your breath. The Las Vegas race is likely going to go bust. Hopefully we'll have it together at Atlanta. Good luck Robby! I'm pulling for you! If it looks like you're going to grenade, at least take out someone who deserves it.....I can think of of handful candidates so I'll leave it up to you!

TOYOTA says the problem shows itself after around 75 miles. Any engine that made it past that should be OK.
In addition, teams that had problems were playing around with the oil trying for extra HP in qualifying.

Went to the track today and listen to Robby a little in happy hour It wasnt that good from what i could make out he said the car just wanted to go straight through the corner he said its tight and even after some big changes. Lets pray that the saturday night gremlins get it right this weekend.

They didnt have the Hard Rock dacals on till Saturday Im still wondering if thats all they're doing. Its seems kinda small. The pic shows fridays wing Jim Beam
