Comment by will on Wednesday Revolution in the world of raids. Joan Barreda has joined Honda factory team for the 2014 Dakar. There his backpacking will Paulo Gonçalves. The other duo Helder Rodrigues and form what Javier Pizzolito.
The Castellón had Speedbrain contract with the team, where he was also Gonçalves, however, buying from KTM Husqvarna made the squad had to be redefined. Faced with a possible loss potential, the Torreblanca successfully negotiated with HRC. His presentation will be on May 30 at Mugello.
With Honda also spoke Cyril Despres, who did not renew KTM. They did not accept their conditions. The five-time Dakar winner now only have the option of Yamaha France, a squad with far fewer resources. That or switch to cars.

As of now Speedbrain is a stand alone brand having been certified as such by FIM (remember that they were based on the old BMW's) I think what the article may be suggesting (although I'm even more illiterate in Spanish than I am in English) is that Speedbrain may be willing to slap on stickers from any manufacturer willing to pony up some dough (?). Heck, now that I look at my thoughts in writing, I'm even more confused.

Whaa? Ok, I understand that Barreda is going to Honda, and Despres is on the move and we don't know where. But what happened to Husqvarna and Speedbrain? And what about KTM?

There are still some pieces to fit and that prevents us assume the signing of Joan Barreda by Honda. However, since it was made official that Stefan Pierer, President of KTM, Husqvarna had acquired, the rumors only intensified. That made us watch for any little movement in this direction, and hence that once we advance to the signing of Cyril Despres by the Japanese brand was not as clear as we had all thought when KTM announced that the five-time winner of Dakar would not go on your computer.
Also, when Joan Barreda said Speedbrain would continue despite this team would have nothing to do with Husqvarna, though the bikes are the ones using a new name, we aim than Torreblanca would soon be associated with a brand I really bet on the raids.
And that Martino Bianchi, Marketing and Husqvarna competition for the past 25 years-and therefore, very close to Barreda in recent years, is now the new General Manager of Honda in the raid team, makes us believe further Barreda could end up riding a bike of this brand.
It was like finally we dare to give almost certainly will drive a honda Joan Barreda from the next Baja Aragon, probably in parallel to factory equipment. A story that, if confirmed, could make Cyril Despres finished in Yamaha and allow to discover the future of other drivers who are awaiting these two drivers move tab. These Joan Pedrero, which could have a hole in the Speedbrain team.
Among these options, there is also the possibility that Laia runs on the same computer that Joan Barreda, or Honda, and to bring with her to Marc Guasch. If so, take his place in Viladoms Gas Gas.
