He must have some potential if Gibbs signed him. Maybe he is done flopping on the ground like a fish after riding way over his head.

@ MK - But Bubba has spent more time rolling around on the ground than either of us has ever spent in jail. Do you really think he will make it to the MX opener this year? I say karma's a bitch.

Flash back, I just look'd at pg1 of this wall. Bubba had just been caught impersonating law enforcement. Well he got off light IMO (I'd still be in jail) and he has a new deal with Joe Gibbs Racing for both SX and MX.

I found this on the new engine rules-
The Dakar is all about the balance between speed and reliability, the rally is 14 days long after ruthless terrain. To encourage manufacturers to make reliable blocks, there are times this year introduced penalties for changing an engine in the engines. Thus there are 15, 45 and 120 minutes penalty given to the first, second and third block change. In this way, the poorer teams also have a chance to win the final victory. To add even more emphasis on reliability, there is this year a marathon stage. At least, only the bike and quad riders. For them, after the 11th stage, a separate camp constructed so they do not have a long connection stage to drive. Without the assistant cars however they do on their own.

Apparently the penalty increases with each engine change. Last year before the penalty, I remember Quinn saying that he wished he had put the third engine in sooner. I think we will see all the top tier teams take the penalty because sand dunes just eat engines.

I was not aware of the new engine change/penalty rule that went along with the max. cap. rule. This rule favors Quinn.IMO. The KTM's in the past where engine eating machines.
