To be frank, I think everyone knows that the Hummers are simply faster than the other cars. We know it, the competition knows it and ASO knows it. Take away our mechanical breakdowns and we would have easily won the majority of the stages; not just by a little, but a lot. Robby and Nasser are great drivers it's true, but to give them their due, some of the other drivers are no slouches either. We've all seen the videos of the Hummers and Mini's going head-to-head, and the Hummers just blow right on by. Whiners they may be, but other drivers have essentially said the same thing : while various terrain differences may favor different configurations, given the overall conditions this year, the Hummers are quite simply the faster cars.

So is it fair for ASO to continue to allow us to have a speed advantage, simply because, as a smaller team that advantage is assumed to be offset by reliability issues, or is there a legitimate case to be made for slowing the Hummers next year ?

New rules for engine size and power for 2013, but I dont know the details. The Toyota truck is using those rules this year and is off the pace. I dont know what the rules mean for the Hummer.
Will the Hummer be a Hummer next year? Suprised it is this year, Hummer is no longer making trucks.
I dont care what RG runs next year as long as he is there. An American truck with a big V8 would be a plus though!

Doesn't make sense why go heavier, some of the stages they barely have enough fuel to finish, the system works don't fix it. We are lucky the first few stages weren't adverse conditions like the years before when the AWD had a clear advantage.

Change the rules becasue a driver/team figured out something. Unfortunate, but something will happen. Lame, penalize the smart one to dumb down the field. Lame

Maybe the others should step up their game.
Change rules to help another team out ? Gee why does that sound familiar ? Oh wait I know it's called NASCAR

Since the dawn of racing, they change rules when somebody has an advantage. Theres a good chance, after yesterday, they will make some definite changes, hopefully it wont hurt him much.

I could see them limiting the SCORE trucks suspension travel, even with 2wd vehicles. Either that or drop the tire size a bit, the JeepSpeed entry was talking about coming back with a Class 1 buggy for next year after their engine failure.

What makes RG fast isn't the engine, those turbo diesels are putting a lot of power to the ground. It's the fact that he can stay on the throttle and soak up those bumps. I know from experience that a faster engine is no match for a well tuned suspension in an off-road race.

how about ASO allows/creates an open unlimited class............

we send over a few trophy trucks and class1 cars, and really put on a show.....

it seems by the numerous videos that the people of Argentina, Chile and Peru have enjoyed the Robbie Show!!

Yeah lets get an unlimited class going and show them how its done baja style.

They are already racing there, they just do't show them. Thats what a Scheller buggy is, there is also a guy from Spain racing a class 1 there have been Pro-trucks that try to. I just boils down to Robby out driving the class he is in. He is going for an overall win not just a class win, he got that.

best way for the ASO to keep RG from using thier own rules against them IS TO MAKE RG THIER HEAD TECH INSPECTER

I think the big money teams should make their cars faster if they want to compete with small teams like RGordon motorsports :)
