From experience with my two, 1st thing you need to do, is buy a better charger! Makes a world of difference in charging times, which increases play time. GAS ON.

I got a list going right now for upgrades. Forgot how much $$$ these things can be. Oh well all in good fun. Prob wont run it very long. Looks to sweet on the Robby shrine in the living room. My wife loves the shrine. ha ha

Here is a pic of my shrine.

Bow before the Offroad God lol

Well I think My RG Slash is a friggin rabbit.

I got it and it started breeding so now I got the 2 wheel and a 4 wheel slash along with 2 Rustlers.
Then you toss in a few k worth of batteries, chargers and parts and yes it does get quits costly.

Hey Mj how do I get my 4x4 to quit burning up bearings and spur gears?

Carl something is SERIOUSLY binding in the gearbox if your burning up bearings . Take it completely apart and do a rebuild , use some motor cleaner to get all the diff grease off . Check all the internal gears for wear and replace any that look chewed . Replace the grease , put back together then reset your diff . Tighten it all the way down then back off a 1/4 turn .
Also check these plates and look for signs of glazing . If they are glazed it means your diff was set to tight

Thanks Mj,
I have been through the ringer here.
I have taken this thing apart so many times I can now do it in my sleep.
Even took it to the hobby shop and they said the same thing, I was getting it too tight so they set it for me with all new parts.
2 batteries later, "yup you guessed it" already eating up the spur gear and bearing looking bad.
I went to the alluminum motor mount because the bearings were literally melting the mount.

I just don't get it.

Try checking the front and rear gearboxes , if nothing's binding in the center it's gotta be something there . If that's not it I'm really stumped . Obviously something somewhere is binding but where . It's gotta be fairly tight too if your burning up bearings .

Carl, this may sound odd but have to tried just replacing the Trans case? May be a bad mold and not allowing things to line up properly??

Shane do you mean just the case or the entire gearbox ? Unfortunately they don't sell an entire box you gotta buy it piece by piece . And yes I'd check the case but can't believe the hobby shop wouldnt have done that , also check the mesh between the spur and pinion if it's too tight that could be binding it up too
