STAGE 7 TRACKING

STAGE 7: IQUIQUE > UYUNI

Connection 396km | Special Stage 321km | Total 717km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Numerous difficulties will mark the first part of the Bolivian marathon stage. The cars will tackle it first, followed by the motorcycles the next day. Right from the outset, the long liaison section will mean an early start, followed by a gradual climb to a height of more than 3,500m. Once on the high plateaux, the special stage will begin, with instructions to follow the roadbook with great care, in light of the large number of junctions on the route. One of the challenges of the day could be wear and tear on tyres. Once they have arrived in Uyuni, the competitors will only have completed half of the marathon stage.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Video of the shunt of the car on its side in front of Campbell. May be safe assume 356 experienced a similar ride.

Whew!! I was looking for 356 and couldn't find out what happened to them, hope they're all ok!!

Is that 336 there too?

Too bad for Matt.

David is still going strong in the 380 though. Be nice to see one of my Canadians cross the finish.

Picture of Robby Gordon having some lunch after the race

Cool figured RG and Yazeed would team up somewhat

great pic .... wana see what's nasser is doing tho .. hahaha

Blowing chunks it sounds like.

Did you read his quote?

Nasser quote
"The stage wasn't difficult, it was the altitude. I had to stop three times to vomit and I had a terrible headache every time we went over a bump. I've lost some time, but it's no big deal. We don't need to push our limits. The car is in good condition, so we're only going to change the tyres, check a few things and then go get a rest. First I'll go see the medical service for a check-up."

Next years team - two Gordini's with two Hummer water carriers!

I like the sound of that

Come check out this caption contest on RDC using this very pic
