Join us for the Dakar Rally on Jan 8, 2009 , right here and chat about the action during the 6th stage.Robby sits in 7th overall, only 41 minutes back.

Stage 6 - Thursday, January 8
San Rafael > Mendoza
Connection: 76 km | Special: 395 km | Connection: 154 km | Total: 625 km
The day’s program is once again full of crossings, since the special begins with around sixty kilometers of dunes. The trail becomes easier in the second part, but competitors might well be slowed down by a wide ford that must be crossed with exceeding skill to avoid an extended bath. On arrival at Mendoza, the rally will penetrate the foothills of the Andes mountain range.

Yup....and its not like Mark Miller is new to this game. More likely thought it was funny than scary....
Hummer 324 up to 15 overall
I suspect a bunch of "dunes" photos/videos will start to trickle in today and tomorrow, with a TON of fresh new multimedia coming in on the off-day this Saturday.
I have been wishing for YEARS that RG, win or lose, would put out a DVD of the whole Dakar... I would love to see in car from all the stages, including the problems along the way... anything would be better then the 30 mins a night the VS gives us, all though the 30 mins on VS is better then nothing.
Toby Moody is great, and he's got to have even more time on his hands now that MotoGP killed their Eurosport deal...
I prefered the Central Euro Rally coverage laster year on Direct TV 101. The RG specific segments were great.
I agree. That was great coverage!

We're down to 3 VW's and 2 Bushi's and a BMW.
So let me get this right...
RG finished the stage 7th -32 min back of De Villiers.
The Boy From Quatar Finished second but had to drive around the dunes missing a way point.

Now RG sits in 7th provisonally 1hour 11 min back of the new leader DeVilliers (pending The Boy From Quatar's huge penalty)

RG has 1hour 20 minutes on the guy behind him.

Eric is 22nd overall.

And this thing ain't half over.
Looks like you are spot on to me.....

Still curious to find out what happened to the truck today...Robby's not finishing 1/2 hour behind them without problems...
I would bet navigation since quite a few others had problems {it's unlikely they all had mechanicals} My guess is you are going to have a bunch of people blaming the road book.
awww BC........To be honest...I would have rather heard that a tire blew out...or they had to stop so he could take a dump or something.......

:)
Going off of moderen historical avarages, if Robby want's to win this, he can only give up 20 min from here on out.

To podium he has about 40 minutes to trip up.

Mark my words: 3-4 guys in front of RG currently will have problems over 2 hours.
