16:30 Karyakin back to his winning ways
The runner-up to Casey Currie in the SSV category last year and former quad Dakar champion, Sergey Karyakin, has opened his account for this year. The Russian beat Austin Jones by almost 30 seconds and Michał Goczał by over a minute. 'Chaleco' López conceded 2'41' to Karyakin and, most importantly, over two minutes to Jones. López now has just over 10 minutes to spare over the American in the general standings. Nothing is decided yet!

14:31 Sunderland, vainqueur !
Super Sam Sunderland has done it! The British biker has not only reacquainted himself with the podium for the first time in 2019 but has taken a superb victory. The KTM rider has skillfully managed to maintain a comfortable lead over the Husqvarna ridden by Pablo Quintanilla to taste success in style.
