hard to say, I'm not finding current rules.

Looks like nani Roma and Sebastain Loeb are racing them.
Yeah don't know about the rules

not that the Prologue sets the tone for the rally, both Loeb and Roma lost 2 positions from there starting position.

13:05 Brabec takes the prologue
Defending champion Ricky Brabec has picked up where he left off and made his infernal pace count again to edge out Joan Barreda and Daniel Sanders for the win. 13 seconds separate the leading trio.

15:41 Baragwanath steals the show
Brian Baragwanath started the prologue in 38th place, but he went on to finish runner-up within the same second as winner Nasser al-Attiyah! It was a spectacular comeback to the Dakar for the driver from South Africa, racing at the wheel of the Century CR6 developed by Mathieu Serradori along with Taye Perry, who wrapped up his first Dakar on a motorbike last year.

16:35 California strikes gold with Quintero
18-year-old Seth Quintero has finished the prologue of his maiden Dakar in second place, two seconds behind Kris Meeke. The Californian, who shares the Red Bull Off-road stable with Mitch Guthrie, had to choose between pursuing football or rally racing as a career and this Dakar suggests he made the right choice.
