Join us for the Dakar Rally's third day on Jan 5, 2009 , right here and chat about the action during the 3rd stage.

Stage 3 - Monday, January 5
Puerto Madryn > Jacobacci
Connection: 70 km | Special: 616 km | Connection: 8 km | Total: 694 km
For the third day of the race, the special program is a tough one, ranging over 600 km. It will be a sign that the competitors have reached the heart of the matter, even though big problems are still to come. The entry into Patagonia, which will be accompanied by a significant change in terrain, will need new piloting abilities. The landscape is much hillier, and those who prefer long curves will find what they’re looking for. Here, orientation is done using the lakes that border the route, around ten throughout the day, and numerous pink flamingoes will be the preferred guides for this stage.

Fly, I get what your sayin now. I see your point. I will leave my posts up though incase someone else is as confused as I am ...
Other than bad math, Fly;s got it right.
I agree with Fly's concept. I am just pointing out that the early "Arrival" results showed #306 Chicherit as 11th place and was (is) over 7 hours back due to that stage 1 roll over, but #306 is not in 11th. As it stands 11th (#322) is only about 15min behind Robby who now sits in 9th place. #306 is currently in 29th but I am sure he will fall even farther hopefully even behind #324
I think they are in great shape too. My guess is the car that wins the race isnt the one currently leading. 13 minutes is comfortably in striking distance and good that he can chase and pick off one or two a day. I know "cruising" is a dirty word but I hardly believe hes opened up the Hummer yet. No sense tearing a corner off the car trying to make up time. Keep it shiny side up and let the pack back up to him. Glad to see him safe after three long stages.
As soon as the conditions change to 3-5 foot whoops we can use the travel on the H-3
For sure, the sky is not falling - it's looking pretty good actually!
The bad thing is will Eric be able to stay in the show... Good thing is Turbo Tom ain't far behind. that guy knows plenty about engines... However... No disrepect... I think Glen and Will will just be there for moral support. TD USA has plenty of parts to rebuild the engine (if needed) they just can't replace it. If they have a dead hole just remove the spark plug and the two rockers. Loosing the 2nd Hummer will not be good for when RG needs it.
if Eric can run clean to the finish he should be okay to stay in the show I think
Hummer 2 #324 Through KM97 only slightly farther back then at KM47 so it appears Eric V is up to speed. Still back 5Hr 18Min though..
hummer 2 #324 through KM196 5hr 30min behind leader still moving....
any word hummer#2
Dakar tracking show's #324 arrived at finish 5h 54' 56" back.
