Join us for the Dakar Rally's first day on Jan 3, 2009 , right here and chat about the action during the first stage

Stage 1 - Saturday, January 3
Buenos Aires > Santa Rosa
Connection: 196 km | Special: 371 km | Connection: 166 km | Total: 733 km
Many have heard of La Pampa, where men are reputed to be “rough, but always courteous”. This first stage will provide the opportunity to discover the length of these vast plains. Dakar competitors have never faced such a long special. With over 400 km of rolling routes, perhaps the fastest on the program, this will constitute a real warm-up.

Wonder why t.v. like the SPEED channel doesn't cover this race?? Good thing this site exists for info.......good job guys!! Thank you!!!
It's on Versus:
Dakar Schedule
and we will have all the Versus replays right here in case you miss it live!
will Robby's start time be posted here?
get to work ron
Because SPEED doesn't cover racing anymore. You can watch crap like Pinks or bimbo's like Adrienne Janic and Vida Guerra shaking their asses. Nothing wrong with that, but come on. Speed has completely lost it when it comes to motorsports. You're more likely to see hunting and pro wrestling on Oxygen or Hallmark at this point.
Alright! Kudos Rick for providing this info. Thanks a million.
Does anybody know of or heard of some rumor about tire size and some restrictor plate changes with this years team? It sounded strange to me...Bueller? Bueller?
I don't know all the details, but if your team or driver finish in the top ten in a event then you get some sort of restriction...

or it might be if you are rated out to be a top 10 team....

I guess all I should say is as far as I know it has something to do with top 10.
Hmmm! Now Im really curious!
I figured Rick would know! Do we have an idea of how small a tire, or size?
Thanks
