The Contrarian weighs in.

And my Robby has 8 Dakar stage wins ... not 12 ... I'm not ashamed of him

You should notify the ASO and the content editor at Dakar.com so they can issue a correction. Because it's really important.

Why ASO or Dakar.com? ... '12' stage wins is posted on RobbyGordon.com ... is that your doing?

I thought a dozen sounded like a fair number. I also rolled back his DOB 10 years. Later this week I'll add the "Sir" to his name in recognition of being Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997 for his contribution to motorsports. And don't forget about the new resort in Ghana.

'Sir' Robby has a soul-warming peal of excellence to it ... I like that ... but I think the 'Marié, 4 enfants' .. went a tad bit over-board

Dang I'm already checking The Planet and RDC for comment updates like the Rally has already started. It's going to fun following everything when the Dakar starts.

Since most of the cats are out of the bag ... what's the other license plate?

Look's like someone has a new BFF. ;-)

Great to see a two car operation. Now lets pray that lil Sheldon does not get too zealous with his new toy, THE GORDINI!!!!!

This is the year. DAKAR!!!!

Buffalo NY is throbbing for the Rally........as I stand next to the campfire and listen to the whispers and crackles in each of our camp tents I can hear with great clarity words such as support, teammate, direction, and well......support again ...and a few even use that word "Water" and a few even "Parts". A tight knit group whose only fault is knowing full well how to twist the truth to the point that it is ignored and becomes nothing more than the grit that hold it's very foundation together. A second vehicle. A second team. A second chance.........in our minds and hearts a chance at second.....behind our chance at first. But who better to ride shotgun to the boss than a rolling stone that with every turn gest polished and not chipped. An up and coming getting his chance to cut his teeth in the worlds toughest race where, death itself is on the scorecard. Strike up the band the United States is getting an entry into the Dakar Rally that is going to be everything in the box......including the prize courtesy of Robby Gordon. Once the time sheets start spinning their tale it will begin to write itself in no uncertain terms, other than the fact there's an 18 year old buck out getting his or giving his. No matter, we got his back, the whole camp, each to his or her own the rope only gets pulled one way........untill it breaks. Deserved, undeserved, water carrier, great talent call it anything but a stunt, it's going to be a show to end all shows. The only thing missing is mainstream coverage.....who is Sheldon Creed ?.I hope the nation finds out one way or the other up to this point this country knows more about nothing than it knows about itself and to me the team deserves better from it. Here's to brake fires and dune hangers and roll overs and to a Kid getting a chance of a lifetime. Call your local Editor now.

I can hear those same words 50 miles above Syracuse!
