Adelaide, South Australia ( February 16, 2015) - Clipsal 500 Adelaide organizers today announced the full driver line-up for the Toyo Tires Stadium Super Trucks Presented by Traxxas (SST) race, which will be the Australia debut of the world’s newest and most exciting form of racing.

SST founder and two-time series champion Robby Gordon will be the star attraction when these 600 horsepower V8 trucks line up on the starting grid for next week’s Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

The Toyo Tires Stadium Super Trucks race will see high profile local and international drivers racing side by side in 10 high powered off-road trucks. The trucks approach speeds of up to 140 mph and ramps can launch the trucks 20 feet into the air and 150 feet down the track.

The starting line-up for the debut of the SST Series in Australia includes five drivers who have competed in the Stadium Super Truck Series previously; Venezuelan IndyCar driver E.J. Viso , rising star Keegan Kincaid, Charles Dorrance, Bill Hynes, and the future of off-road racing, 17 year-old Sheldon Creed.

The Australian contingent eager to impress in their first outing behind the wheel of a Stadium Super Truck consists of; off-road motorcycle racer Toby Price, off-road racing legend Brad Gallard, former V8 Supercars driver and 24-hour Bathurst winner Nathan Pretty and Australia’s most prolific stunt rider Matt Mingay.

Although accustomed to off-road racing on two wheels, Toby Price will be on a high heading into the Clipsal 500 Adelaide after recently becoming just the second Australian to stand on the winners’ podium at the grueling Dakar Rally, clinching third overall after the final stage in Argentina.

The SST’s will hit the track at the 2015 V8 Supercars season opener on Thursday, February 26th, with specially designed jumps added to the iconic Adelaide street circuit and racing scheduled to run over four days.

“Stadium Super Trucks have become hugely popular at motor racing events in the United States and we’re very excited to be hosting the first ever Stadium Super Trucks event outside of North America,” said Clipsal 500 CEO Mark Warren.

Toyo Tires has acquired the naming rights sponsorship of the Australian debut of Stadium Super Trucks presented by TRAXXAS at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide. Supporting sponsors of the series include; Clipsal By Schneider Electric, Traxxas, Hoggs Breath Café, Jet Pilot and GoPro.

Competition on track is set to be fierce as the trucks literally fly through Victoria Park, featuring drivers from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds.

That's the best one,. love it!!

Troubling to see the lack of driver consistency with SST. I think it's safe to assume any Aussie participation will be only this one off showing.

This means we are looking at another 6 driver season and its probable RG wins his own series three years in a row. Apart from RG only one driver ran a full SST season on that entry list.

I looks bad, period, fan of RG and the series or not. In two years (apart from RG) only 5 drivers out of 53 have ran full seasons. RG has 9 wins all other drivers combine for 21.

Go take a look at the nameplates and phone cases from the store, RG and Creed remain....the rest, all gone. Tell me how that looks good from a business standpoint.

Dont know a resolution other than bring drivers in to run from other disciples and find ways to entice them to stick. Then again, I was still a floored they elected to go international before hitting every major US market.
It's about drivers retaining their sponsorship. The series is still growing. This sport has literally been around for 2 years. You can get worried when you start to see the schedule shrinking.
@Team, do you have anything good to say about any of Robby's operation's? for as long as I can remember IYO ,Robby should close shop and hang on the couch. What's your claim to fame besides long posts?
Never said he should close up shop, simply looking at things objectively. As a prime example, I was at Pocono last year when the Indy Lights ran.....a field of 8 ran infront of a crowd of what seemed liked 18 people. I don't want to see SST on that path.

So honestly, because I do care about the series and it's future....I am going to be critical. I'd actually welcome you telling me how I'm wrong. How does it look GOOD the owner is gonna win his own series 3 years running.....how does driver turn over look positive? How as a driver could I look at SST as a viable, stable career advancement? I don't follow off-road as closely as some, can you tell me if any drivers have left SST and found more commerical success from this exposure?

Pretty sure RG would be just as critical himself, facts are facts. Regardless of how much you may personally like someone, you still have to see things for what they are. Sure he's a brilliant businessman, he created his own branding and kept a sub par cup effort fully funded in a way some competitive teams never did. He pulled Kevin Conway out of his racecar.....shall I keep going?

Do we need a claim to fame to post here? Would you take my posts more or less seriously if you knew more about the person writing them? It changes nothing, have no desire to Al Bundy things up about what I did in my life, that's what trophy rooms are for.
@team, just trying to figure how you get your perspective.
