STAGE 5 TRACKING

STAGE 5: COPIAPO > ANTOFAGASTA

Connection 239km | Special Stage 458km | Total 697km

COURSE OVERVIEW

This is the first of the rare special stages in which all categories will compete. At the start of the race, the most confident drivers will be able to take advantage of the fast tracks to try to move up in the overall standings. But the temptation to do so may be risky, particularly in the hard-to-handle fesh-fesh areas where absolute self-control is the only guarantee of success. Overtaking here requires precision handling to the extreme.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

It's still up and running

Me 2

Even with the shortcut or better navigation, he's losing time to the rest

Anybody else curious how well RG would do in a Mini? Not that I want him to drive one but those things are impressive. Just food for thought..

Be fun to see him test one, see if it's Robby proof.

I still don't think he would be able to beat Nasser Al Attiayah. the year they raced in the same car Nasser was faster, even without testing it very much.

Faster for a day or two, then he broke the thing. Although RG presses as hard as anyone, as owner of the equipment, he probably didn't care to beat the living piss out of it like Nassir did. To finish first, you must first finish and as soon as Nassir knew he wasn't going to win it all he drove it like he stole it.

RG broke the thing two

C'mon...Nasser was faster, but he beat the shit outta the car until he broke it. Nasser is fast, but faster than RG in the truck RG designed, built, tested and raced in?

nasser was down 45 minutes so he was running 100%. He was trying to gain 10 minutes a day to get back in the hunt and win stages. Had he gained the time back before breaking, he would have backed off a little….like he is today.

He'd do fantastic----but you must be missing the point. His entire career has been about running his own team. With only brief exceptions, he's had his own CART, NASCAR and DAKAR teams. It's not about just being fast, but being EVERYTHING to the best of one's ability.

Is anything really Robby proof lol
