STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN

Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

alright got to stop for today ...
will c ya all around tomorrow .
Again thank you tog for your complete devotion on this .

No matter the outcome, will cheer for him always,. God bless this guy! better luck for tomorrow,.

does the dakar tracking stop after a certain time? can believe almost 70 cars are out there still. Unless they can make thru the night, it will be very tough to start tomorrow's stage.

58th car just came thru the ASS

I guess I'm surprised there hasn't been any new news on the dakar site as to what's happening with those left out there.
I'm afraid to look at the other classes to see how many there really are.... my heart is still in my throat even with Robby in.
I still don't see anyone listed on final arrival either????

Here is the overall ranking after stage 2. http://www.dakar.com/dakar/2015/us/stage-2/rankings/overall-cars.ht...
Once ASO posts that, it's pretty much set.

Neat that they are finally listing Gordini

I don't know how true it is, but there is certain time allotted to finish a stage, after a certain time the competitor is not allowed to continue the competition...

the last one on the list took 16 hours to finish the stage, it must have been a monster.

Press guys say it was 115 degrees on the ground today at Dakar, some vehicles reported 130+ in the cockpits....yikes

All of you who have followed RG know that he doesn't quit. You know that he is a bull in the cockpit---remember the Cleveland Gran Prix in the old CART days---when he got into it with Michael at the end of the race. They will figure it out and keep plugging away. If it isn't anything major he will win some stages and you never know what could happen---last years winner is almost 9 hours back and the alleged king---peterhansel is over an hour back. Fight on RG and keep taking notes and collecting data---it will all matter one day---nothing can replace experience

Can RG use a pass tomorrow to get placed in an earlier starting position? I believe he has had two of them to use in past Dakars

yes, if he chooses to use it.with only 60 car in at 6:37pm pt and finishing 50th today.I would suggest using it,the course skirt's the mountain range headed north.
