Despite the outcry about team orders, Peter said in yesterdays' interview that he stopped and drove around in circles waiting for Roma after Roma had a flat, and then today he stopped and waited yet again so that Roma could lead, so there never was any true racing for the lead among the Mini's at the end. My assumption is that Mini plans to set Roma up as their lead driver next year, as Peter and Nasser are leaving, and that they fixed the outcome in a pathetic attempt to "build excitement" for Roma next year. Having said that, I suspect the only people who are actually happy about this bogus outcome are the corporate shirts. While the Mini organization brought what it took to win, racing deserves to be about racing, and a manipulated finish is not that.

True. Nasser admitted on last nights NBCSN dakar highlights that he was renting the ride so no team orders for him. I know this was a matter of debate for Nasser's status. Say what you will about their personalities, but has gotta burn bad for Peter and Nasser. They will come back next year in whatever capacity with fire anew. Along the same lines as Robby in that manner.. and you gotta respect that.

Nasser in his Buggy, Peter in a Citroen...should be good.

Yep, I was surprised that Nasser was not back again with his buggy. It's all a matter of money I know, but none the less those buggies of his were a major threat.

The best news now is that he's talking about next year.

man the rally sure turned into a joke the last few days

that is my opinion also.I wonder what Joe Parson think's.I thought he likes 'racing'

not that I'd wanted to see either of them win but SPH put on a show to come back like that. He truly is Mr. Dakar. Damn impressive and it's a shame it came down to that in the end.

"In the end"..........That says it all as far as this rally went ...to bad about Carlos.

just an FYI, #390 Sebestyen Sandor did finish 53rd today for 47th overall,Congrats to his team for finishing. Also the #348 El Martillo team finished today, there first DAKAR 52nd overall ,Congrats to them.
Mike Johnson #92 finish'd today for 74th overall, Congrats to him.

Great to hear that the #390 team finished. Robby fans have long memories, and the Hungarian team is definitely this year's red Fiat. :)

Red Fiat... I see what you did there. A Classic
