Here we go! Robby stopped racing yesterday and today we start anew our year long chat about what the car should be. For me, it's all in good fun.

First, let me say, I'm a Robby fan. I have HUGE respect for all he has achieved in Dakar 2014, with bringing the world the Gordini, and his amazing racing career in general. I only have glimpses of his personal character, but from what I see, I like this part of Robby too. Like I said I'm a fan.

But there seems to be a point at the Planet where too much chat about what Robby's car/engine should be, crosses a line. I'm respectful of this line.

Okay with this said, I feel better, and I look forward to all the car and engine chat to come.

He might have caught one of those power poles, or a guide-wire. Looks like he over shot the left-hand turn. He could have nodded off. Such a bummer. Fatique is a definite factor in this race.

He said yesterday on daily recap that he only had one belt on and no helmet after stopping for fuel, was reaching for belts and looked away from road.

What I don't understand or did I miss it was any word from in the comments of Dakar.com regarding the status of Robby. I noticed that Robby is still not on the withdrawal list.

I think there is a 'formality' to the way RG has withdrawn from the rally, and him getting a starting spot, and not starting is part of that system.
