STAGE 11 TRACKING

STAGE 11: ANTOFAGASTA > EL SALVADOR

Connection 144km | Special Stage 605km | Total 749km

COURSE OVERVIEW

In addition to the distance, here the competitors will be put to the test by all the difficulties offered by the Atacama Desert… and will have to display all the qualities required for off-road races. After the mine tracks and the many rivers to cross, the competitors will have to distinguish themselves in the heart of the Dunes of Copiapo: the fastest motorcyclists are expected to spend seven hours behind the wheel. Needless to say that on this decisive day there will be no shortage of opportunities for competitors to make a winning comeback in the race. This will be the key stage of the 2014 edition.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Guess we'll see at WP1 what kind of time they are giving him.

See, good news.

Hopefully all the helos circle around and finally get the footage they wanted all day long anyway.

Ironic how fighter underdog Robby makes the Dakar. BMW might sell Minis because of it, but Robby brings the the excitement and soul.

Am I correct in that it is 5:30 there and at least a 6 hour stage?

I think so but what do I know

Dakar tracker now says 66 cars have left 10 mins ago it said 65

yes on the 6 hour stage... time there, lucky I can keep US time zones correct! haha!

That is a pretty good guess; at least close to 7 hrs or more. BUT! No traffic, just avoid errant wildlife that may wander out after dark.

I hope he has lights that rival a Space Shuttle launch.

As far as time of day, 2 hrs ahead of EST; =Chilean DST.

Great news! This is exactly why RG is awesome! I think his passion and determination in Dakar is second to none!

Whole thing is, is it "real" info/reliable? I'm just posting what I find.
