Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 10 of the 2014 Dakar Rally. After a broken radiator ruined a top 5 finish in stage 9, Gordon looks to rebound and will be the 17th car off the line. Robby Gordon will begin stage 9 at 7:53am/et.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The special stage, split into two sections with very different features, will begin with the descent towards the shores of the Pacific. The advance gained in the stage the day before may will be increased in the sand during the first two hundred kilometres. Even more skill will be required to tackle the sections of fesh-fesh in the second part of the stage. Once this difficult area is behind the drivers, they will all be delighted to twist and wind along the region’s mine tracks, and in particular to be welcomed by the majestic arch of La Portuda, a stone’s throw from the bivouac in Antofagasta.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

IDK, maybe 20-25 down. Lost about 18 minutes on all but wp1 to wp2. hard to say i guess

ok, so, FACTS.
1. He knew the Hummer could win this,. but, everything has a price,. SOLD.
2. He was supposed to drive one Hummer in this Dakar,. Client WD.
3. What do we have,. SST, lets build an HST or DST.
4. No test time or little test time on the mule,.
5. HST without a vaccine= too many gremnlins on that thing.
6. OA, Only he knows if the HST has a future in dakar.

It is also important to remember that peterhansel does this ( Dakar) for a living pretty much and he is good at it, and this is the same for the top mini riders. RG Dakar is quite different and I wish here in the USA, the Dakar would be as big as in Europe. if that was the case RG wouldn't have room in the truck to add more sponsored stickers!
With that in mind, working all year in different project and then getting sponsors is tough for any riders, Peterhansel has it easy besides being french.
