STAGE 9 TRACKING

STAGE 9: CALAMA > IQUIQUE

Connection 29km | Special Stage 422km | Total 451km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The 2014 Dakar will reach its most northern point in Iquique, where the competitors will see the ocean for the first time this year. Above all, the drivers and teams will discover the Atacama Dunes again after a first part of a special stage which will be rather tedious. Dune specialists will be in command over a distance of almost 150km. Thrills will be guaranteed at the very end of the day, on the last three kilometres of the descent to Iquique: there is more than a 30% difference in height from start to finish and it is almost not recommended to break. The law of gravitation takes on its full meaning: the bivouac is not far away!

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Terranova lost 6 minutes between wp10 and wp11.

ya vamos por mas de la mitad de la competencia y dejare de estar prendido del Internet los 15 dias de competencia, y continuar el trabajo y esperar que el año que viene sera mucho mejor, gracias Robby gordon por victorias de etapa

Robby continues the work from a year ago thanks for victories?

Sorry I do not speak Spanish, I Spanish translator for spectator video would be helpful as well. what I fund amazing is how many camera phones there are in the middle of nowhere and how many of these have young children whose hero is Robby Gordon.

Peterhansel, Al-Attiyah, Roma & Terranova are IN.

Come on Robby hold onto 5th!

RG in at WP11

RG through WP11, 17:59 back

RG should be flying down the hill in the next 5-10 minutes

Stage 9 UPDATE:

Robby Gordon has passed through KM410 of 422 (WP11) and is in 5th place, but has a 1m40s lead over 6th place DeVilliers

Who's faster Toyota or Gordini?

HST

Have you guys seen how close the overall is in the Truck race. the start of the day it was 30 or so minutes difference, now just 18. Quite a battle there too. They are right behind the front cars at wp10
