STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Yeah. I'm not gonna say it. Nope. Break it, Pepé Le Pew!

I wish I could crawl into one of those right now. I'd eat my way out from the inside.

At 11:45:53" local, Nani Roma has launched his Mini into the 284 kilometers of the second half of the stage.

if they have started the second half as it seems, the tracker is down again

The netherlands tracker shows RG thru WP6 and he made up time?? 6:26 down to Nasser in fifth. Let's see how this filters out cause I don't believe it but I want to

http://www.trackingdakar.nl/index.php?country=ZAF,USA,CAN

Also shows BJ is thru WP5 nearly 53 minutes down

if you click OVERALL WP6 then you see started cars

wp6 373kh not 284kh

right.. 284KM is how much distance there is in the second half of the stage.

Thanks Kevin, good to see.

This climb will be a good test of how the Gordini is running!

tracker missing 3 cars ahead of robby at cp5 missing including peter pecker

The tracker has adjusted itself. I was pretty sure you can't gain time in the neutralization zone. Roma has reached WP7. @Joseph those missing cars started behind RG so they wouldn't show yet
