STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

As much as we all hate those girlie cars they are kicking some ass so far.

Damn Turbos on high altitude. The SMG is surprising me though. Maybe it is the King Carlos effect. I am glad he made Nani Roma cry in stage 2.

morning all, now that I have read thru. glad to see RG still in the ball park!

during the intermission I found on you tube a picture of the Gordini HX? or HSX. looks tough like a mini hummer. Jurys still out on those tires n wheels though. not sure I like those.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeNuVXSDrho

sorry 20 sec. into it and its in Spanish.

That is the worst video ever created. Why not just look through the photos here? You know, since that video creator got them from here.

Can't believe the amout of information from Planetrobby that other people are taking credit for SMH

RG ready to get started on WP6

The Sun is rising on the west coast and it's Dakar time. Doesn't get much better

Good morning. Tracking is working better today however it hasn't updated for anyone in the cars for about half an hour. Must be crepe break

You know, just to put this in there, I had a whole mess of crepes this morning. They're just like pancakes, maybe even better.
